I suppose it makes sense that the most indoctrinated by liberal bastions of education would have trouble breaking free and thinking for themselves.

The funny thing is, the people in those red states are the ones who receive the most "free stuff" that Republicans are always accusing Democrats of wanting.

They're also the ones receiving most of the net federal funds that the blue states pay in.

Indeed they are. It's amazing how eager people are to ignore that.

It would also make sense that the more educated one is, the more apt one becomes to think multidimensionally and therefore make better choices.

Funny how 34% of all welfare recipients live in California then, it being a blue state and all.

How is that 'funny'? Clue, go grab a chart of population densities and see if you can work out why this is not 'funny'.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Interesting statistic, but I fail to see what that has to do with the topic. California is not on either of the lists above.

I am aware of it. 12% of the US population or thereabouts lives in California, but yet about 1/3 of all Welfare recipients. There is no hard and fast figures on this, but from everything I can gather online from various reputable polls, 60+% of welfare recipients vote Democrat.

THE TRUTH HURTS.

But made up shite doesn't so pulling a percentage point out of ones derrier is not particularly the zinger one might expect it to be. Nola was even kind enough to admit when making the BS comment there was no actual factual basis for his claim, he just arrived at it by using 'poll' numbers. Didn't even point us to the polls giving him this made up factoid.

Your 34% seems a bit high based on this chart posted by someone else on VJ. (More like low 20s).

http://www.statemaster.com/graph/eco_wel_cas_tot_rec_percap-caseloads-total-recipients-per-capita

Also note that while California is ranked high, there are states above it and many states immediately behind that are red. Also note that California provides more federal tax dollars that it takes back.
