I've read about sign in failures prior to an invoice becoming available, but is it possible this is related to our expedite request? Wishful thinking I know!

I can tell you that even though our case is apparently expedited, I can still log into the CEAC website so I suspect it is wishful thinking. It took us 28 days after receiving our NOA2 before we could make a payment through the site. If you haven't yet, I would call and inquire.

So sorry you didn't get approved right away!! Hope it goes quick now.

Your case made me wonder though. My husband and I only met in late 2011. Will that be a problem during the interview?

I posed this in a thread, but realised it's actually really relevant to this thread more. My issue is this:

Hi everyone,

I received my NVC numbers a couple of days ago.

My husband and I were both able to log in to the payment portal and it said that there was no payment available for processing.

Yesterday it started having a sign on error. It would load but say that there was an error with the log on or whatever on a new page.

Today it now says:

You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information.

I've read about sign in failures prior to an invoice becoming available, but is it possible this is related to our expedite request? Wishful thinking I know!

Thanks anyone who can help - if it's normal then at least we all know what to expect.

I read on the NVC page that this error message is normal, but I'm more confused as to why we got 2 DIFFERENT error messages over a period of 2 days after initially being able to access it.

How long will the system usually go down before you can pay it?

Congrats!!

Typically 48hrs if not sooner!

I just thought when the i-130 got approved they had already established that the marriage is legit. I just sent in some sample pictures and a few pages of chats and I thought that is enough. I didn't know they could reject you at the interview because of relationship evidence.

Remember, there's 3 different stages: USCIS, NVC, and embassy/consulate. Each have their own steps and requirements. Just because you pass one "test" at one stage, does NOT mean you're guaranteed to pass the same "test" at a later stage. Some embassies/consulates have stricter requirements (proof of relationship, income level) than USCIS or NVC.

no - the I-130 approval is for the USCitizen spouse, granting the petition.

Once the petition is approved, the intending immigrant is allowed to apply for an immigrant visa.

NVC does doc intake, does some basic math and civil doc checking

but

ultimately, it's up to the Consular Officer in the Immigrant Visa Unit inside of an Embassy, to adjudicate the visa immigrant application.

Some people (like me) front load the I-130, knowing full well that the relationship evidence travels into the IV unit, and becomes visible to a Consular Officer prior to the actual interview day. This is useful for high fraud US Embassies, like Guangzhou China, Lagos Nigeria, and Cuidad de Juarez Mexico.

If your foreign spouse is a natural-born citizen of Germany, interviewing in Germany - not ethnically tied to a MENA country -

then one can get by with scant evidence for an immigrant visa.

However - do note that EACH CASE IS DIFFERENT, but there's local guidelines for adjudication. These are different in Germany vs China vs Italy vs Malaysia vs Nigeria.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I would look up the portal page for the country and see what they ask for. I Jus didn't put enough in my I130 for 2010. I had limited ink I think I don't remember. I would send in enough to show. Different. Months and different. Times if your worried bout it. Jamaica is a Lil more strict with evidence.

for those of you who have a Walgreens nearby, take advantage of a free collage print. this happens once in a while and it's one per account. so far i have made 5 collage prints over time for my husband to bring to the US Embassy for his interview. it is a cheap (freebie) way for compiling pictures as proof of relationship. :) you have the option to pick it up at your local store (saves you shipping) or for those who don't live near one, you have the option to ship it (for a fee). either way, you'd be saving around $5 for a print. this is valid through tomorrow only. :)

here is the link to Walgreens and the code is COLLAGEFREE http://photo2.walgreens.com/walgreens/welcome

(i'm in no way affiliated with Walgreens...just trying to help you all out :) )

Try calling up again and asking. It might still be too soon. Once a case gets to NVC, it's still another while before a case number is assigned.
