Hello,

Was hoping someone can shed some light on the issue. We sent in the DS-230 with all documents to the NVC by carrier. Tracking shows it was delivered on 27 of Sept 2012. I called the help line on 4 of Oct and the operator said they are still waiting for the DS-230 and documents.

Does this mean the DS-230 may be lost? or Can it take longer than a week for them to update their system?

Thanks Very Much

It could be taken a week or longer to review your file.

You did track your package and was delivered successfully to the NVC.

Then you don't need to worry about it might be lost.

The operator only can tell you the result once someone finishes reviewing your DS230.

Before that, they only tell you not receive it yet or no any update.

Because their system can't see any information until someone types your file into their system.

Actually, it might very well be lost.. we tracked all of our packages to NVC and always got a delivery message - however, half of our documents apparently never made it to NVC. I believe some people at NVC are really sloppy so while I would wait for a couple more days, and keep calling, I would get ready to send your package again. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick replies. We'll wait a few more days, hopefully entered into the system then.

We sent our I-864 and DS-230 in two desperate envelopes on the same day. The AOS got reviewed a week later and the DS-230 took an extra four days. That was a week ago. Our case was completed yesterday.

Pls can you tell me how you got to know when your AOS was reviewed? I mean do NVC sent you email that they reviewed your AOS or you only got to know because you called them? Congratulations inbetween and have a great success for your interview...

I would like to know the same thing. After sending the AOS and DS-230, what happens next? Do I need to call every day? Do we receive an email or two? We sent the AOS on Monday and the DS-230 today. The stories on here about packages getting lost are worrying me.

with things being backed up at NVC, they now have a 50% rate of lost mail.

so I hope you have back-up documents to send in again.

this info came from another VJ member so I do not aprove this message.

If you don't approve, why would you re-post it? Just to worry people?

How on earth would somebody be able to know that they're losing HALF of their mail? There is absolutely no way that is anywhere close to the truth - that is a made up statistic that will really worry people that have sent in original birth/marriage/police clearance certificates.

I'm sure accidents do happen at NVC and I know that you're just trying to help, but try to exercise a little common sense when throwing around rumors.

I also don't think that 50% of packages sent just miraculously disappear. I think if they did they would have an uproar on their hands. I really wonder where this information came from.

NVC asked us twice the same document now . We got our case completed But with a RFE to be presented at the interview. They asked my wife's W2 for 2011, but we already sent it with the first form. I wonder if they lost it because they have it already and they requested a new form with all the documents again.
