Hi again everybody, i have followed the instructions and example forms that i can see, all my GF has to do before mailing the package is to pick out our pictures, flight tickets etc etc. Which i plan to have her glue onto A4 paper along with a description under each. I have a few questions that i am unsure of at the end, im just confused as i have read conflicting things around the internet.

Here is what we have so far:

Check for filing fee: $340

I-129f Cover letter

I-129f (completed, and ready to date and sign on day of posting)

I-129f attachment for question 18, details of meeting.

G-325a - Petitioners details (gf), with passport size picture

G-325a - Beneficiary details (me), with passport size picture

Letter of Intent to marry - Petitioner

Letter of Intent to marry - Beneficiary.

G-1145 - E-notification

I have read that packages up to 60 pages have been sent. I cannot see ours reaching that amount, so i feel like i'm missing something. I realize that when we submit our proof of relationship : pictures, tickets and such, this will bulk the package out.

Heres my questions:

1. Neither of us have used checks before, can someone tell us how to make it traceable or whatever it is recommended?

2. When sending the pictures and other evidence, do they have to be "real" pictures, or can we print them on regular paper?

- With the travel tickets also, can they be photocopies? i am worried that we wont get the evidence back, and so would prefer not to use the original airline tickets and such unless necessary.

3. Recommended amount of pictures/skype logs/tickets? A few examples of each, or everything we have (in regards to airline tickets) Should i send a copy of my passport with US entry stamps too?

4. The passport pictures with G-325a.... I've read to send in 2 of each person? is this correct, and should they both be US passport size, or just the petitioners?

5. Are addresses needed or vital on the letters of intent and I-129f cover letter?

6. Finally, just to check (im sure im correct), but the address we file the whole package to is:

For US Postal Service:

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

From there is where they will choose which centre to file it at as far i understand?

Thanks so much guys, i know im going to sound stupid, im sure you understand the nerves are kicking in haha.

You are missing proof of citizenship of the USC with Birth Certificate or copies of all the pages of the passport (I like this one better so they can also see the passport stamps)

Send copies of all the evidence, not originals.

AND just to be super sure, cross check with this guide http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

1. Neither of us have used checks before, can someone tell us how to make it traceable or whatever it is recommended? Any receipts at least?

2. When sending the pictures and other evidence, do they have to be "real" pictures, or can we print them on regular paper? If you have a photo printer at home, make a copy from your computer. If not, go to the nearest Costco, Target or shutterfly.com. I got the 1st 50 prints free! Mark each photos with location, name of people in the photos and date

- With the travel tickets also, can they be photocopies? i am worried that we wont get the evidence back, and so would prefer not to use the original airline tickets and such unless necessary. Copies

3. Recommended amount of pictures/skype logs/tickets? A few examples of each, or everything we have (in regards to airline tickets) Should i send a copy of my passport with US entry stamps too? Send as much as you can with the logs (25 pages is where I stopped lol) Copies of all the travels proving you've met within 2 years, including boarding passes, itineraries, passport immigration stamps.

4. The passport pictures with G-325a.... I've read to send in 2 of each person? is this correct, and should they both be US passport size, or just the petitioners? 1 of each. lightly print 'photo of...' and A# if available

5. Are addresses needed or vital on the letters of intent and I-129f cover letter?

From there is where they will choose which centre to file it at as far i understand? You don't get to choose, they'll forward it to either Vermont or California.

Heres my questions:

1. Neither of us have used checks before, can someone tell us how to make it traceable or whatever it is recommended?

If you're writing a check where the amount will be drawn from the bank account, you will be able to trace it by reviewing your bank account online and/or contacting the bank with the check number used. Most banks receive a scan of cashed checked as well, so you'll have access to that.

2. When sending the pictures and other evidence, do they have to be "real" pictures, or can we print them on regular paper?

- With the travel tickets also, can they be photocopies? i am worried that we wont get the evidence back, and so would prefer not to use the original airline tickets and such unless necessary.

I put together a PowerPoint presentation with about 10-12 photos, labeled each slide with the date(s) and location(s) and then printed it out in color. Never send originals of things such as boarding passes.

3. Recommended amount of pictures/skype logs/tickets? A few examples of each, or everything we have (in regards to airline tickets) Should i send a copy of my passport with US entry stamps too?

Again, I only included a handful of images along with copiesof our boarding passes. I did not include Skype logs.

4. The passport pictures with G-325a.... I've read to send in 2 of each person? is this correct, and should they both be US passport size, or just the petitioners?

Both the petitioner and beneficiary need to send two U.S. passport-sized photos with the petition package.

5. Are addresses needed or vital on the letters of intent and I-129f cover letter?

I addressed it to the Dallas Lockbox, but it really doesn't matter if you include a "to" address on the letters of intent or the cover letter.

6. Finally, just to check (im sure im correct), but the address we file the whole package to is:

For US Postal Service:

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151

Correct. Be sure to re-read through the I-129F instructions to ensure you haven't missed anything. Also, go through the I-129F petition to ensure there are no blank spaces. If something doesn't apply to you, it should be answered as "None," or "N/A."

Okay thanks for all of that then.

Still had two different answers of how many passport pics to send, but ill send 2 of each, rather send too much than too little.

@tintin and Mike: What is the 'A#' that you referred to for the passport pictures, ive seen this on the forms and dont understand what it means.

It's a unique # assigned to non-citizen. It's normally found on the Green Card or I-94. If you don't have it, leave it blank. I'm naturalized citizen and I didn't include it on the photos but got an approval :)

One passport style photo of each is sufficient. I made copies of my boarding passes, passport stamps, itineraries and such, and included them at the end of my package to show proof of meeting. I included maybe less than 10 photos altogether, and I had them in ziplock bags stapled to a sheet of paper. For the passport photos, I put each in a ziplock bag stapled to a piece of paper behind the G-325A form. On the bag I wrote: Passport syle photo of xxxxx. For the photos to show proof of meeting (I had 2 sets), I wrote : Photos from March 2012 and Photos from May 2012. I don't think it was necessary but I liked to keep it organized. And my package was MAYBE 30 pages if that. It was really short! I didn't have any problems with my petition.

2. When sending the pictures and other evidence, do they have to be "real" pictures, or can we print them on regular paper? Foto paper would be preferable I'd say, sign the date they were taken and the place on the back

3. Recommended amount of pictures/skype logs/tickets? A few examples of each, or everything we have (in regards to airline tickets) Should i send a copy of my passport with US entry stamps too? send a copy of stamps-very important, a few tickets and a few pictures, skype logs not important at this stage but we did send a few samples, don't send too much, just enough to prove you have met within the past 2 years

4. The passport pictures with G-325a.... I've read to send in 2 of each person? is this correct, and should they both be US passport size, or just the petitioners? both 2" x 2", one of each is enough

5. Are addresses needed or vital on the letters of intent and I-129f cover letter? better put them there

Great guys, thank you so much. I'll inform my gf of the instructions regarding photos etc, as i am leaving everything with her to add and then mail. (im currently about to leave the US today :'(. but she has agreed to prepare/mount/do whatever with the photos and other evidence before mailing it off.) I just need to copy the stamps from my passport when i arrive home and email the scans to her for printing.

Thank you!

How about copies of certified divorce decrees?

And copies of your evidence of meeting within the last two years. A supplemental page describing that is NOT required; but copies of your evidence to prove that meeting are.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Not everyone here is divorced ;) plus he said he will include tickets, passport stamps and pictures- that's pretty much proof of having met :) That's all we had ...

Hi :)

I used facebook printouts for the photos in my packets, and maybe two actual photos. I liked using facebook because the images are dated with their original posting date, and they included comments from our friends and family about the events taking place in the photos.

We mailed in two passport photos each and grouped certain docs together and put them into presentation folders...For example, all of our forms and check were in one folder, all of our evidence in another, birth certificate and passport photos in another..

Besides photographic evidence I had a copy of my lease (he's on it) to send, copies of plane tickets and boarding passes, stamped passport pages from both of us, about 3 pages of facebook messages spanning three months, a copy of christmas gift he purchased me in 2010 (A star named for me and the certificate he received from the purchase).

Everything was daisies for me hope it works out great for you! You seem really organized, it should go smoothly :)

Thought id bump this rather than creating another post all together. How long is acceptable for the difference between the dates on the paperwork (signed), and actually sending the package/USCIS receiving it. I signed my paperwork whilst there (in the USA) on the day i left- which was the 2nd/Oct/2012. The paperwork still hasnt sent due to my gf being too busy to staple it together and add the final touches. So basically how long will it still be accepted until i have to send new signed paperwork for her to send in the package.
