We just received an email that said:

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

Does this mean that the next step will be an interview, and we have to wait to be sent an interview date? Or does this mean that they could still ask for more information or something else, before scheduling an interview? Would they ask for anything new at the interview, if we are at that step, or just the original documents, because we sent everything in using the electronic process.

Thanks for any info. This has been a long process, and I'm afraid of getting too happy that we may be getting towards the end of it and finally together.

That's the case complete email, which means NVC has completed your case and put your case into queue for an interview date to be scheduled. Grats!

Yes, the next step will be an interview date scheduled. Could be tomorrow, could be in 2 weeks. You can either call NVC and/or DOS every day to find out, or just wait for the email.

And they'll ask for the original documents (if you did EP), as well as anything else they want to really.

Only those that do EP (electronic processing) get the case complete email. So, it's completely normal that you didn't get one!

Thank you for the info! Will they ask for anything else they want (other than the original documents) before the interview so I know to bring them, or could they ask for stuff at the interview, and I will have to submit it after?

Nope, not before the interview. Once your interview date is assigned, your case will be forwarded to the consulate in Montreal, and then NVC will no longer have anything to do with your case.

And if they ask for something at the interview, and you don't have it, then yes, you'll have to submit it afterwards.

It's been 2 weeks now, and we haven't gotten any email. My husband called NVC last Friday and they said they couldn't tell us anything, we had to wait for the Embassy. It's Montreal Embassy though, and from what I understand they do not accept phone calls. My husband did try to call them on Friday anyway, but wasn't able to get through to anyone.

Looking at the timelines here, a bunch of couples who got their NOA2s after us, who were also going through Montreal Embassy, have had their interviews this month, or are scheduled this month already. So we are getting concerned. What can we do at this point, other than wait? Is there anyone we can contact to find out the status?

But are they applying for immigrant visa or non-immigrant visa?

Immigrant visas are scheduled by NVC.
