How important is it to the governing bodies (immigration, consular, etc.) that the sponsor visits his/her fiancee in their country more than once. Is one visit sufficient, or will the consular or whom ever, see this as a issue?..... I've been told by others (not here in VJ) that it could be a problem proving a genuine relationship.

Is there anyone out there that has visited their fiancee only once and still received the VISA, and what problems arose from only one visit?...if any

We do have all receipts, itinerary, etc. over 1000 pics of ourselves and with family and friends during my 2 week stay, records of all our twice daily communications from Skype, Yahoo and cell phones.

This is the only issue of concern, we are great on everything else..... is it imperative to make more than 1 visit?

Also, I do have good reasons for only 1 trip, but will they listen and consider my reasons?

Thanks,

Mick n Leila

I thought I read somewhere that the only time they wouldn't consider 1 visit sufficient, is if you initially met your fiance(e) while you were in his/her country (on vacation or something) or vice versa, but then no meeting other than that happened. But then you can read all kinds of stuff on the internet sometimes, so take that with a grain of salt ;)

Welcome to the forum.

According to the I-129F instructions,..."and have met in person within two years before your filing of this petition"... Do you notice any particular number of times mentioned in the instructions? Obviously, the more visits the better, but you can only go with what you have. Remember that the petition is approved on the basis of you fulfilling the requirements of the visa, and the strength of ALL of the documents and evidence you present with your petition. :guides: for more information.

Good luck on your visa journey.

The rules were written by the very governing body you now fear. Just do what many have done and follow the rules and you will suceed just like everyone else. Of course more is better but the rules dont dictate that.

The cases are usually decided based on the documents required. The relationship needs to be sound. Keep in mind no one is going to review 1000 pics ect. If your relationship is weak enough to require the submission of a mountian of evidence you may indeed have a problem. If it isnt you will be fine.

Thank you for the replies....I have read every requirement several times, and fulfilled them all and exceeded most.....I do understand that they will not be interested in our 1000 pics, but only a handful.

As I am debating these ppl that insist that I visit more than once...... "I have met all requirement, and if 2 or more visits were required, it would be stated in the I-129F instructions".

It's just all this discussion on the subject make one wonder......what if.......of course we don't want to be denied and go thru this again or even extend out the process any long than necessary.

I also have probably close to 100 pages or more of our constant communication from Yahoo, Skype video chat log, Skype calls to her cell phone and text messages, receipts for flowers, etc.

My fiancee is a bit concerned also, well maybe more than a bit, of how she will answer and how the consulor will respond to only one visit, when asked. I've told her to just tell the truth.

I just wanted to hear from folks that were successful or not, with only one visit and what happened.

Thank you all, and a special thank you to Azteca143

Since you are applying for a beneficiary from the PI, you may want to look at the next step in the process and see if you are above the 125% of the poverty guidelines. If not, then you have two options 1) get married and file for the spousal visa, or 2) find a better paying job as the PI is notorious for not accepting a co-sponsor for the fiancee visa. The petition is approved by the USCIS, after that it goes to the Embassty/Consulate where the beneficiary lives. The USCIS just makes certain you fulfill the requirements for the petition. It is the Embassy/Consulate that determines whether to issue a visa or not. Each and every one is different. It would seem that for the fiancee visa most all of the CO do not accept a co-sponsor (from what I've been reading here on VJ). So make certain you meet the income guidelines.

Good luck,

Dave

Thanks Dave,

I am well above the income requirements.....but to tell the truth, my disposable income as been strained by this economy and keeping my business afloat. Also my adult children have been effected by this downward economy and required some help from dad. So, these are my reasons for not being able to visit more than once.

However, on paper my income is good....and actually, I am planning on working another job here soon and keep business alive also.

I really shouldn't have a problem in this area.

Thank you for advice and info.

My friend of mine, her fiance visit her just once and they get early the NOA2.. Maybe it's important how many times you been here, that is only my perception. But what most important is that you have complete proof of evidence and far enough to get a approved..

Thank you again and more replies from one time visit petitioners advice and stories would be appreciated.

I am not representing Phillipines but we have a very very tough Consulate to deal with. And as others have said its the whole relationship. One thing Like in Nigeria they look at is face time. How much time together.

Now my story is abit difference I submitted with one visit but I stayed 6 months (Not planned). Your 2 weeks or whatever its about the relationship. Meeting family all that. I am sure she can explain why not more visits. I mean they know the majority of us aren't rockstars with our own Gulfwing jet and money falling out the sky. And with a K1 you only have to prove you meet once right?

I have known some who visited in Nigeria once and got approved (I am talking 2 years later after visit). I know some who visted 6 times, lived there 3 years and got denied. So its all about the picture you have presented to them as to the legitimacy of your relationship.
