So I decided to try doing my Biometrics early today, as oppose to waiting til next month, and im glad to say it was a breeze.

My local office, was in Chatsworth, CA (My filing office is San Fernando). I went in around 12:10pm, walked straight through, I was the only one in there. Filled in a form, then got called straight through, has my fingerprints, picture and signature taken and I left the building at 12:26pm.

My original appointment date was August 7th, so I'm glad to have gotten it out of the way, and now hopefully, I can move on to the next step and get my EAD!! Excited!!

AOS Journey

Day 0 - 07/10/2012 - AOS package (I-130,I-485, I-175) mailed to Chicago with FedEx.

Day 1 - 07/11/2012 - Confirmation from FedEx that package arrived and was signed for.

Day 3 - 07/13/2012 - Text confirmation from USCIS of receipt.

Day 4 - 07/14/2012 - Online banking shows that cheques were cashed.

Day 9 - 07/19/2012 - Received 3 out of 3 NOA letters in the post.

Day 11 - 07/21/2012 - Received biometrics appointment letter, appointed set for 08/07/2012.

Day 16 - 07/26/2012 - Completed biometrics walk in.

Day 56 - 09/04/2012 - Received text notification to state that my EAD has been ordered into production.

Day 59 - 09/07/2012 - Received 2nd text notification to state that my EAD has been ordered into production.

Like many - i have been a viewer for the past few weeks, getting guidance for submitting my AOS package. As seems customary -a monthly status update has been created - I couldn't see only for July so thought I would create one! Let's all keep each other updated for July filing!

Hi, can you tell me the reason why they refused your walk-in bio in San Jose?

Day 01 - 07/25/2012 - Mailed AOS package (I-130,I-131, I-485,I-765) via UPS Next Day Air.
Day 02 - 07/26/2012 - Package delivered by UPS.
Day 10 - 08/03/2012 - Got 4 emails confirm AOS package had been received. Checks cashed.
Day 13 - 08/06/2012 - Receipt Numbers are track-able on USCIS website.
Day 18 - 08/11/2012 - Biometrics Notice received (Dated: 8/8, Appointment: 8/29)
Day 20 - 08/13/2012 - Walk-in biometrics done.
Day 24 - 08/17/2012 - Received 4 NOA letters.
Day 27 - 08/20/2012 - 2nd Biometrics Notice received. Same day walk-in biometrics done.
Day 41 - 09/03/2012 - Email and txt notification of interview.
Day 43 - 09/05/2012 - Interview Notice in the mail. This is GREAT!
Day 63 - 09/25/2012 - EAD txt notification. I-765 online status updated.
Day 69 - 10/01/2012 - EAD Mailed.
Day 71 - 10/03/2012 - Interview. I-130 approved. I-485 will be approved after police clearance received. / EAD received. Wrong name. Wrong country of birth.
... waiting for Police Reports from Vietnam and current city's police dept.
11/01/2012 - RFE Police reports sent.
11/06/2012 - I-485 Approved. Card production email received.
11/09/2012 - Email notification. Card picked up by USPS.
11/15/2012 - GC received. Correct name. Still wrong country of birth.

They said they only accept appointments on the date of actual appointment. Another member here told me it was because they have so many to do per day - my recommendation is that you head up to Oakland - they processed mine that day no problem.

I've been to that center for my USC bio. They were not that busy but if they give you trouble then I better ask my wife to go straight to Oakland to save time. :blush:

Is this the one you went to: USCIS Application Support Center 8000 Edgewater Drive, Suite 170 Oakland, CA 94621-2042.

I havent filed the I-864 so I think they are gonna send me a amil to request this form. Because we are waiting on the tax return so we didnt attach it yet.
