Hey guys,

I was wondering how often you guys communicate with your partner. I'm asking because I got to thinking about the time zone difference among countries. This never affected me since my fiance is from Mexico, and only a 2 hour difference between us, so not too much of an affect. I was wondering how some of you communicate with your partner when it's say, 7 pm where you live and 3 am where your partner lives. With such a huge time difference between a couple, I would think that it's harder to communicate with each other, or at least it happens less often.

Sorry, I'm just kinda bored right now and I can't think about anything else to post.

No approval yet? Did you call? I'm hoping for yours to be next!

There's a 16 hour time difference for us...crazy at it sounds, we've gotten into routine. She calls me at my office to say goodmorning when she arrives in her dental clinic at about 8am her time ...it's 5pm my time. We talk between about 9pm - 1am my time ....12 noon - 4pm her time. And then when I'm getting up in the morning to say goodnight/goodmorning....7am my time.....10pm her time. :P

All the time we were apart.... we talked on the net for a couple hours every day (in my mornings,) possibly a quick phone call or IM in the afternoons, and on the phone for another hour or two at night (in my evenings.)

(It was either 7, 8 or 9 hours' time difference, depending on the time of year.)

When i am work i call my wife all the time. When i am at home she is right next to me. I agree it must be really hard for anyone who is doing the long distance thing. I was lucky i met my wife in ireland(by chance) and then we moved here 2 years later.

Got to love Skype!

We talk a couple times a day...usually in the evenings. I don't really like to talk on the phone while I'm at work, so I'll call him on the way home, then we talk maybe once again in the evening, then right before bed. We go to bed at the same time, since he's only an hour behind. Even that feels like a lot of talking-sometimes it's hard to think of things to say, since both our days are pretty much the same every day.

As a side note to this topic, I recently discovered a really cheap way to talk internationally-Nextel walkie talkie has unlimited international for $10 a month.

at 9pm he gets online. we talk for about a hour.. when he is getting ready for work. then at about 11ishpm i head to bed. and give him a call to get a tuck into bed.. get my nightly good nite lovin.. if i wake from bad dream or just simply cause hes on my mind.. usually around 3am.. I call for a minute.. 9/10 times he was sitting there phone in hand typing me a sms.. haha. when i wake i get a morning wake up call.. then . .. we get online once again about 10am for a hour or so.. depends on business on how much i can talk to him .. ..

Between 16 and 17 hour difference, depending on the time of year.

Once a week calls and daily emails, best we can do since I'm sleeping during her mornings and working most evenings...no luxury of personal phone calls at work. :protest:

5 hour time difference here.

Larry works nights and I work days. So I get online at 8pm my time and he has had his sleep by then, so it is 3pm his time.

He'll phone me at work sometimes on his way home too...which is 7.30am his time, and 12.30pm my time.

Confused? :yes::lol:

So yes, we talk either by phone or MSN most days.

A couple of times a day, only one hour between us, a north america cell phone calling plan, and an unlimited home calling plan that is great!.

If not for that blessing, it would be even harder, I feel for those with big time differences and the not so good calling plans available.

ana now lives with me, so almost constant commuication. :D

but when she was in mexico: it was almost daily emails plus IMs during the day. then essentially every night we would talk on the phone and later via yahoo voice. Time diff was 2 hours, so it did limit the night chats on weeknights.

+8 hours time difference. She is at work, I am sleeping. She is at home, I am at work, She is sleeping, I am home. A real struggle to find good times but you find them. I will get up at 4am to catch her at Noon or stay up till midnight to catch her before her day begins. No computer for her so IM's are not an option. Do our best we can on the weekends when I am not tied up with the kids.

YMMV
