Got my back today with a letter denying the fee waiver. It also said I should refile with the fee. I guess I will have to join august forum when I file in two weeks.

06-15-2010 Contact USCIS and congress office to see about the requested expedite

06-16-2010 Email from CRIS says application is pending expect and decision in 60days

06-17-2010 Email from USCIS stating RFE sent on 06-17-2010 for AOS

06-18-2010 AOS, EAD and AP touched but petition hasn't been touched since 05-25-2010

06-21-2010 RFE received (Petitioner's Signature on Joint Affidavit was missing)

06-22-2010 Priority Mailed RFE back to USCIS

06-23-2010 RFE Arrives at PO Box in Lees summit(picked up by USCIS 4:30pm)

06-24-2010 RFE received by USCIS and Case resumed

06-28-2010 AOS touched

07-22-2010 Contact USCIS about EAD expedite

Glad to hear that worked out for you! -- that would have sucked if they turned you down after an hour and a half drive.

It would be really interesting to see how the approval process is affected by going for an early bio, rescheduling bio (as in my wife's case), and going on the scheduled appointment... or whether it will have any affect at all -- I guess, we'll just have to WAIT and see...

LOL yeah... but to be honest I felt that even just to try it was worth it :) I read somewhere in these forums that the Wichita office was usually pretty empty and that it'd probably be easy to do the walk-in soo that's why I tried :) It really was a breeze... I was there for I would say a maximum of 45 minutes or so... And yeah... I am also wondering if I will get approved faster or what... of course I know that other many factors go into that (like me being from a "low risk" country) but like you said, we will eventually find out, won't we? Do you have any idea how long it normally takes to get the approval letter after biometrics? I am planning a trip to Mexico (wohoo vacation time!) on September 29th, and it'd be nice to have my actual new green card (which I heard is now pink?! lol) rather than having to take my expired green card plus the letter... the least I have to take, and the least I have to explain to border guards, the better.

Got my BIO letter today. My appointment is 8/28.

Damn. They sent it to the address I live at, not to the mailing addy I gave them...... It's okay because we still live here but dang. What happens when we move? T___T

Februay 4, 2010: Michael attended interview with Leanne... APPROVED!!!!!!!!

Februay 12, 2010: Leanne received her visa in the mail :)

April 9, 2010: P.O.E.

April 14, 2010: Wedding on the sand at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point, CA t4527.gif

July 06, 2010: Mailed AOS package

July 08, 2010: Received in Chicago

July 15, 2010: Received text & email that app. was received

July 17, 2010: Received NOA1 dated 7-14-10, our 3-month wedding anniversary :)

Got the bio letter this week. Appointment is Aug 20. I may try to go in earlier than that on a day I already have off work. Any comments on the statement on the NOA about this (It says that you "MUST wait for your appointment notice before going to the ASC for biometric processing")? Do they frown upon going in early for a walk-in? I take this to mean you just cannot go in before you have a letter, not that you can't go in early once you have an appt letter... I see other people are doing it without a problem...Any feedback is much appreciated :-)
