Just sent out my initial K-1 packet overnight. It will be there tomorrow (Friday) at 12pm. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to receive a NOA1? And when timeline gives you an approximate date of when your NOA2 will be receives how accurate is that? Thank you guys! :)

I got a letter in 10 days saying my case had been sent to local USCIS office, and the NOA1 was issued within 5 days from then. example i mailed my packet on Nov 29th my NOA1 date was December 15th. However I have heard this procedure is not taking about a MONTH. And to answer your second question YES it is pretty accurate I got a RFE on the day OF 5 months.

It can take up to 1 month but usually it's 1-2 weeks. Count 4-6 months then until you receive either a RFE or the NOA2 (approval). If you're talking about the estimation range date you'll have in your timeline after you write your NOA1 Receipt Notice date in it, it's based on VJ members data, so it may be right, as you can receive a RFE/NOA2 before or after that estimate. Nobody knows for sure.

Also, put California Service Center or Vermont Service Center in your timeline and profile depending on where your petition is being processed, it will be written on your NOA1 (bottom left of it). :)

NOA1 got to us about 13 days after.

NOA2 from the USCIS got to us after 6 months (May 10th), after that it should take only 7 days or so to get to the NVC, but our case got stuck in the USCIS for some unkown reason, and they sent it after one month and 9 days :(, we are now waiting for the papers to get to the NVC, next week. and from then we are hoping eveything takes 2 months.

Good luck............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

IF you sent the electronic notification with your original packet you will get a notification saying they got it and recieve your hard copy via snail mail in about 1-2 weeks. Then you start the LONG, brutal, and frustrating waiting game till the NOA2.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB, AND GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!!!

I received a confirmation from USPS today stating that my packet was delivered and signed for today at 11:20am but haven't received a notification from USCIS. I filled out the G-1145 so hopefully they will let me know in the next few days that they received it. Thank you everyone for helping me out I really appreciate it.

Did you send the payment with a check? Or money order? If you sent a check, your first clue that everything is moving in the right direction, will be when they cash it good.gif
