Hello everyone! This morning at the start of work (as usual) I popped into the USCIS site and tried to log in.. to my surprise it said "you session has timed out" or something like that and I could not log in.. then a few minutes later I logged in - nothing had changed and then at 8:01am (mountain time) BOOM! Text, email and ... APPROVAL! I wish there was a timeline for the NVC process! (I don't care that it shouldn't take more than 2 week, I want to know exact minutes of what's going on) I'm sure lot's of you can relate... Hang in there! 5 months is a pain - but I think the end result is worth it ;)

Congratulations on having your K-1 petition approved by USCIS!!!

Please remember that this immigration journey is not a sprint, but rather it is a marathon. I would daresay that the homestretch is when you are going to the citizenship ceremony with your SO.

What you will likely notice is a change in bureaucracies, USCIS to NVC and DoS; a change in names, visa petition to visa application; a change in reference numbers from receipt numbers to case file numbers. There will still be some waiting involved, but hopefully it will be a little easier sailing now. :dancing: Right now, take a breath and celebrate, and then review the Guides to see what is next in store for you in this marathon.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

Yes, NVC could take more than 2 weeks and if your petition gets pulled for AP as mine did - they will not give you a time frame on when it will go out.

Thanks for the kind words! For us it's a home stretch because we can take the next steps together not separated by thousands of miles! That's what really matters :) More money to the inefficient system, more papers, sending, receiving, waiting.. all seems like nothing as long as we can be together while it happens. According to USCIS, it was sent yesterday - I have a hard time believing that it will take longer than a week for them to touch it!! They will be hearing from me next week regardless :)
