Me and my wife are probably going to spend our 1st anniversary (June 30) on Skype. Initially we were hoping to have a ceremony for her family and friends in Pittsburgh, but we decided to wait until next year, even if I do make it over before the end of June. We've already made one wedding work within a two-day time limit - don't want to go through that again. This time we want to take enough time to plan ahead. Not that our wedding day wasn't spectacularly wonderful... it's just that, well, you know. These kinds of things are hectic enough as it is without having to getting it done in a day or two.

Finally, Just called NVC to find out that our case has been completed today.

I just got off the phone with my wife, her interview was simple 2hours & 30 minutes. The end results was......................

Interview APPROVED!!!!!!

First off, thanks for all the anniversary well wishes! Had a great day! Went to Sioux Falls (big city about an hour and a half away). Had lunch at Olive Garden, went to Best Buy (every geek's dream ), watched Dark Shadows (Johnny Depp ) at an awesome theater, went to PetCo and PetSmart to look at fish ( I want to get another one now ), and then had supper at the Outback Steakhouse. Awesome day

All our packages have been delivered today. When should I start bugging NVC again to ask for updates on our cases? I hope the next update we get would be a case complete..

Dear Sir/Madam:

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

July is very realistic. For Canadians, it's usually two months from case complete to interview date, so July is when it'll likely be.

No No - you keep missing the point on jiaozi.

I'm trying to get you to make 300 steamed venison (or rabbit) jiaozi, then give to a homeless shelter in your area.

It's a way to 'pay it forward', always.

I never ask for 10,000 That's a lot o gear, prep, time and ppl to help. 300 though, is doable, on a weekend.

Hey everyone!! I have a specific question for Pakistani VJers who recently went through NVC process:

For my civil documents such as my Birth Certificate, where could I get it certified from? My wife(the petitioner) has my original.

if the petitioner has the original, then is great idea for her to prep the IV packet. You should fill out the ds-230, and send it to her with your OTHER civil documents, then she adds that document to the package, and then she sends it off to NVC.

What are yer thoughts?

You need to send the original. Are you going to mail document to NVC from pakistan or is your wife going to send documents from here on your behalf (Agent).

Darnell & Why_US, thank you for the suggestions.

Everyone has mentioned that whatever docs you send to USCIS or NVC you never really get them back, so I prefer sending them certified copies. However, if this is not the case then I might as well have me wife whois my agent of choice send all the originals! Please advise further.
