Hi Everyone,

I am new on this site. My co-workers told me about Visa Journey because they know my situation. I am a older woman who happens to fall in love with a very lovely young Nigerian man who lives in Lagos State. In the beginning of our relationship, I was a little skeptical because my eldest child is only 5 years younger than my fiance. I know I'm a little , but what can I say; I'm in love. (L)

Not too long ago, I got pregnant by my fiance and we lost our child. :( I am still depressed about it and don't think I could ever get over the pain. My fiance has been amazingly strong and up-building to me even-though the miscarriage affected him too. Any way, we want to try for another child, but of course after marriage.

Please give me some information that can help our case. Is there a place on here, where I can read about the beneficiaries interviewing experiences and things we should expect from Nigeria's Embassy? Happy to meet you and thank you in advance. :)

Going through Lagos is like going through H-LL. It is easily the hardest place to get a visa through. You have stated you have one red flag, a large age difference , add more you add more difficulty to the process. Even the most prepared couples can't guarentee that they will get a visa from Nigeria. There are consulate reviews and information in the sub sarahan forum.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Welcome to VJ, and thanks for such a refreshingly literate and nicely explanatory post.

As others have said, go to the links atop any VJ page and click "Embassy Info" and "Reviews: Embassy" to search for Lagos. Read as much as you can, and very carefully.

Members of VJ who can be of exceptional help to you are NigeriaorBust (for Lagos insights in particular), and pushbrk and JimVaPhuong for general information. I'm not a new member here by any means, but I read everything that these three post. Of course, other Lagos interviewees can be of great support.

Good luck, si man! :)

Hi and welcome you can read the embassy reviews for Nigeria that will give insight to the embassy and interview.

The embassy's reveiw is really not a good place to get info from cos all of them are people that have had success and not really people that has had a hard time. You need to no about the difficulties as well as the easy ones not everybody has an easy interveiw. If she reads that she will think that all is easy, when its really not. But I wish her well. Not everybody have it as easy as those people. Many people go and are denied those people rarely post their review.

Welcome Angelica_Chinedu. As another USC (United States Citizen) woman who is much older than her 9ja husband (My husband is 1 year younger than my daughter). Be encourage as you prepare for this Journey. Just be prepared, present your best possible evidence that tells a love story of a evolving relationship.

TBoneTX is right as to the best the site has to offer on advice. Ask anything and everything. No question is to dumb or simple. This can be crazy, overwhelming but you will get your Visa legs and hang with the best of them you'll see. Read the forums, all over (It can be addicting). Follow discussions. Some are just good fun. Like "How do you deal (about the distance and stuff like that). We are all here to help each other

And as far as the reviews, even with the approval reviews the good ones give more insight on the CO how they acted, questions they tried to trip them up on. They are good either way., Even the denials I am sure were ask the same type of questions. It's a good start to know.
