Well it turns out one of those Hail Marys might actually have paid off.

I received another email from the DHS Ombudsman today stating that they had conducted a review of my submission, had contacted USCIS on my behalf and that I may hear something from either them or USCIS directly within the next 45 days.

So we shall see...

Good Morning bell2md,

My case was transferred on May 9th to CSC and I haven't received anything yet either. I was told by Hypnos that K1 AOS filers are likely to have their application sent to CSC, which means it might take between 6 months to a year to receive the Green Card. It also means you might receive the GC without being scheduled for an interview.

Since you have applied more than 6 months ago, I think you can call USCIS and ask them about your case. I don't know if they will be able to tell you more than the update you can see when checking your status online but you can always give it a try.

Good luck and have a nice day.

Hey!! Thanks Hypnos and Floxy for the well wishes!!

You are looking at a US Resident!! Everything went great. We arrived at the Orlando field office at 8:05am. Security went smoothly. A couple of the guards were even jovial old men, and we all had a good laugh together (one of them was a grumpy old man, and he yelled at me for asking if I needed to take off my shoes... as the guy in front of me had to... but the other guards made up for that by being nice).

Our appointment was for 8:15am. At 8:10am, my name was called! YAY! Then we went back to the adjudications officers room. She was very efficient and professional. She swore us in, asked for ID, then asked DH a bunch of questions pertaining to the I-130, then asked me a couple of questions. Ironically, DH did most of the talking as most of her questions were directed at him. She did not ask for originals or to see photos (I had included a couple in the file, which she studied, but didn't ask questions). She had a good chuckle at DH trying to remember our wedding date... and the look of shock on my face that he'd forget it.

Then she typed a bunch of stuff into the computer, and told us that I'd be getting my approval letter in a few weeks, followed by the LPR Card. I was disappointed that I didn't get an I551 stamp in my passport - I really wanted to be able to get a few things done this week, but I guess I'll just have to wait for that 'Hallowed Approval Letter' to arrive in the mail.

Oh, and because we've been married for more than 2 years, don't have to apply for conditions to be removed in 2 years. In 3 years, I can apply for citizenship. We're very happy to hear that.

I don't know what time we left the office, but we were sitting at Denny's for breakfast by 8:49am.

I-129F filed May 1996
K-1 issued August 1996
Married in September 1996.
AOS October 1996
LPR April 1997 to 2003.
Forced to abandon status at POE in DC, 2003.
Lived & worked in Asia together 2000 to 2011.
We have 2 gorgeous kids!
Returned to USA Oct 2011, on B1 tourist visa
Filed i-130 and i-485 in April 2012.

LPR approved 10/22/2012 (Conditional 2 year period waived)

Fast forward 4 years to 2016.... it's that time!

Day 0: April 13, 2016 Sent N-400 at 12:20pm :dancing:

Day 1: April 14, 2016 Delivered to USCIS Lewisville, TX 11:38am

Day 6: April 19, 2016 Text acceptance 3:48pm ; Check Cashed

Day 10: April 23, 2016 NOA received

Day 16: April 29, 2016 NOA - Biometrics appointment scheduled

Day 28: May 11, 2016 Biometrics appointment at Orlando

Day 120 : August 11, 2016 7.30am Naturalization Interview - Approved!

Day 162 : September 22, 2015 1.00pm Oath!!

I've heard very inconsistent wait time for the cases that were transferred to CSC. Most people I heard living in VA, FL, TX who have their cases transferred to CSC got approved after 4-5 months. I know another couple who live in Maryland as I do got her GC after one year. Could it be it is based on the state from which the application is sent?

That's awesome! I am happy for you. My interview followed pretty much the same pattern. I signed in by 9.25am for my interview at 9.30am. I was called in @ 10.15am and basically the officer just went through the papaers we had earlier filed and just asked qustions to confirm how and when we met and joked that my husband was "rocking the cradle" since I"ve known him since I was about 8 yrs old. She didnt ask for additional photos or anything else and approved us on the spot. Stamped my passsport with I551 stamp and collected my EAD/AP card. On the whole, we spent the time chatting about other experiences. We were out in about 25 mins.

Not a thing since 10/10.

DHS said to expect to hear something from either them or USCIS directly within 45 days. That gives them another month or so.

I will contact them again if those 45 days come and go without me hearing anything at all.

I filed for adjustment back in April. got a notice a month later that i fot transfered to California Service center.....it's the end of October... haven't heard a thing.

Same thing here. I have filed my aos in April 20. I have no news so far but it seems like it just takes longer to adjust from K1. Since it's been 6 months you can call USCIS to ask them if they can give you any info. I think I'm going to do that tomorrow. I hope they will be able to give me an update.

Have a nice week!
