The long wait

Just thinking out loud,I've heard many people on here whine and cry when they find out that they have to wait 6-12 months for a visa,before they can enter the united States..seriously,you are entering a new country?..Do you really think waiting 8 months is that long of a thing??..I've read of people on here waiting 3 months and they are ready to contact the national guard because the Us government is not speeding up the process..I say relax and wait,your immigrating to a new country.

Since it is a big type of visa - green card, then wait time can be longer too. 8-10 months is normal then.

I understand why there is whining/complaining you are talking about, but it's not so much the wait; It's being away from their loved one for the wait. You're from a VWP country so you can visit freely, but many on here aren't. It's not so easy for many on here to be together.

I think you miss the point. Many people on here have not seen their loved ones for a year or more. Many cannot afford overseas trips a couple times a year and for them the wait is agony. Their are families where 1 of the parents might not have seen their child for many months and the whole time, we have one of the most porous borders in the world and let people cross illegally by the hundreds every day. I can understand when people only want to be united with the people they love. And to let you know, I am able to see my fiancee every month but, I still think the process could be streamlines a little especially when we get such little info as to where the process is at any given time..just my 2 cents worth

I get that..The point is you cant just walk across a border and live there,there are rules..If it takes 3 years so be it..stop whining and wait.

Took us 10 months. I've seen as little as 6 but as long as 14 or 15 months

UK takes a month, you can do it quicker if you are in a rush.

Peopl should be sensitive to others on here. We understand its a new country, but its hard when you see other people get an approval that have been waiting half as long. Yes I got an rfe, but it was for something from 12 yrs ago that I was told by my lawyer to write an explanation and send it in. This was before VJ. My prayers go out to everyone that is still waiting
