Based upon your NOA-1 date you are still within USCIS posted proccessing guidelines. You'll be told that as a result of your inquiry, but that is all that will happen.

I know it's frustrating to wait, but that's all you can do at this point.

Also, our application hasn't been "touched" since August 9th... does that even mean anything at all?!

Means absolutely nothing at all. Some petitions never show a touch, and go from "initial review" to "post decision activity"...

Touches are irrevelent.

USCIS will not do anything until the NOA-1 is 5 months +1 day old, and even then the only result from a service request is for them to tell you to call back in 30-60 days. Processing guidelines are only that - a guideline and USCIS is NOT bound to approve a petition within that posted guideline.

Service representatives are not adjudicators. Their sole function is to answer the phone and read from a script in response to petitioner's questions.

Boxter's service request won't delay your petition any more than it will speed up his. Good things come to those that wait!

What does it means?blink.gif. If people can put request like that I guess they'll going to be explode. Does it need requirement amount time for waiting? how long?

So I wonder what we are supposed to do when we reach the 5th month - just call our congressman? Cause they can't ignore congressional requests? It seems to not work every time though - I've seen people here calling their congressmen, ombudsmen and god knows who else, and still waiting months after they passed the 5 month mark. And should we just use a congressman without even placing a service requests with the USCIS?

I hope to get ours approved in the next month so I won't have to deal with that craziness!

**Removal of conditions**

10/01/2014 Package sent to California Service Center

10/03/2014 NOA1

10/10/2014 Received Biometrics Appointment Letter, Biometrics scheduled for 10/30/14

10/22/2014 Early Biometrics Walk-in - Cleveland, OH - weird experience with the clerk there - told me I can go ahead and get my biometrics taken early, but it might be too early and it might not go through??? If it might be a problem, then why let me do it at all?

02/10/2015 New Biometrics letter received, Biometrics scheduled for 03/09/15- I guess that clerk was right??

03/09/2015 Second biometrics

..waiting..

5/15/2015 Put in a service request online - outside of processing time

5/18/2015 Approved!

5/23/2015 Card in hand

I called yesterday and told them about forgetting to include some documents and the lady said they will contact me when they need something. When I asked her how long is it going to take, she read the message off the site and said CSC takes about 5 months. You'll have to wait until then...

As long as you're within the 5 month frame you can't really ask for a service request. Waiting sucks but they have their processing times for a reason. The fact that CSC is sticking to that time frame is a bit frustrating, especially when you see that the VSC is being extra efficient.

Wait until the 5 months are up and ten start calling them before taking more "agressive" steps, like contacting your congressman. We tried calling the USCIS last week and we only could get a machine, talking to a eral person for a change must be great!

Crossing my fingers for June filers!!!

:)
