If you had your medical examination within the year (as your timeline shows, si man), you don't need a new medical, no man.

Point this out to the civil surgeon and his office manager. If they still insist that you need a second exam, leave and find another civil surgeon.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

How long ago did you have your medical? If you have the I-693 form instructions, look on page 4, Section 3, #2, C a. Bring that with your forms to the CS and show him, and state that you only need the vaccination rquirements. I hope this helps.

Then you DO NOT need another full medical, mine was done in May of this yr, and i just needed the vaccinations done for I-693. Good luck on getting them done and finding a CS that will do them for you.

In San Francisco we paid 90 dollars per person for the vaccination supplement alone. I could not find anything cheaper than that.

However the 90 dollars does not include the vaccination, but simply looking over the documentation, entering the data in the computer, printing the report and leaking the envelope. The whole thing took 10 min per person - the most expensive medical procedure done so far.

However, in order to save money, we first went to a regular doctor and performed antibody tesst. Having that document (from a local doctor) on hand helped a lot. Plus insurance covered all vaccinations, tests and doctor visits. For family of 3 this was way over 2000 dollars.

Good luck.

We followed the advice of VJ members and did not get a new medical in the US by a civil surgeon since my husband just had one in his country four months prior to our AOS filing. Well....we got an RFE to get one in the US just a month ago. :bonk: I would highly recommend you pay up to get your records reviewed by a US physician before submitting. It will also be helpful in assuring you have all the correct vaccinations. Good luck to you both.

where are you living right now? I went to a Dr. in Philadelphia and he just charged $15 for filling up the papers and because I was missing 1 vaccine we had to pay $64 more but if someone has all his/her vaccines then it would be just $15

God bless you

The only thing you require for AoS is a vaccination transcription, not a second medical (because you are within 1 year of your original medical). Be very clear in your requirement for a transcription as many of the admin staff at civil surgeon offices don't seem to know the difference. All the civil surgeon needs to do is view your records of all vaccinations (the military will give you a signed/dated/stamped form of anything they administer) and enter them onto the vaccination section of the I-693, sign, date and give a sealed envelope back to you for inclusion with your AoS packet. Done and dusted. If they want more than $50 they're ripping you off.
