Thank you, you wonderful and patient people. I am finally next to my man for good. We are getting married next weekend and we could not have done it without you. You have all of my gratitude! I am sure I'll continue to see you all during AOS and ROC but right now I am going to take a breather, enjoy this day in with my honey and some nice ice wine and smile for the first time in ages! Our Journey begins

Met online in March 2009. Started dating through Skype in September 2009. Met in person on 03/14/2010. After many visits, both ways, Nate proposes to Liz on 8/10/2010.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks for the good wishes and congratulations (and thanks to the Mods for moving this to the proper forum). I am finally home, which really just is wherever my soul mate is :)

TBoneTX: Thank you! The POE was interesting. On the one hand I can see how there shouldn't be any trouble and on the other it is not an intuitive process. The CBP officers were nice enough and there was not a big line to get my stuff stamped, but if I hadn't known from experience where the offices were it would have been a big hassle.

What I didn't know was that there were inspection stations within the US. We took a road trip from El Paso to Northern New Mexico today and there was an interior inspection checkpoint a few miles outside of Las Cruces, NM. I'm glad I was carrying my passport and just plan to never be too far away from my I-94 and other ID's anymore from now on!

Oh, absolutely. Do everything in your power to avoid the one south of Alpine, TX.

This is a must -- good thinking, si man. Keep a copy of your marriage certificate with you at all times (order several originals from your courthouse). Also, when you apply for AOS, keep a photocopy of your cover-letter (and, ideally, of the check for the payment) with you at all times until you receive the NOA1. Keep the NOA1 with you until you get the green card. The CBP is everywhere, si man!
