On the I-134, question pertaining to "Relationship to Sponsor" question... what is the best way to word this... sorry my brain is lost and can't seem to find a proper way to explain the relationship to sponsor.

Me (guy), THE PETITIONER, asked MY AUNT (Sponsor) to sponsor my fiancee (girl), THE BENEFICIARY. So what word to best describe the relationship that my fiancee has to my aunt?

I swear I cannot find a word to describe it lol...

I-134 Sponsor of BENEFICIARY..

not trying to be smart.. but it is truthful :)

seems like each of you fill out your own form

http://www.visajourney.com/content/support

found this..

The US fiance is ALWAYS the primary sponsor, but may have a co-sponsor. If there is a co-sponsor, both the

US fiance and the co-sponsor will EACH have to fill out the affidavit I-134 or I-864 and EACH will have to provide

supporting documentation.

Heh, if no one comes up with anything else, I'll probably just go with that.

I have my own I-134 already completed and I qualify on my own. I just wanted a cosponsor for reassurance if they ask for one. I tend to over worry and over prepare to be on the safe side. I know I don't need a cosponsor, but having that extra assurance helps me not to worry too much. I guess it's placebo for the visa process. :)

YOU are the sponsor. Your aunt is the CO-sponsor. What is your aunt's relationship to you? AUNT.

Your fiancee is not "the sponsor" YOU are.

Hey Gary, after I read your reply and looked at the I-134 again... YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT! I guess I was over thinking the question and misread it. Thanks for clearing this up for me!

Oops I think I spoke too soon... I'm still sort of confused...

I guess I'm getting confused with #3 on the I-134 because #3 states "this affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person". So I will put my fiancee's (beneficiary) name/address/status/etc. on #3. The part that confuses me on #3 is the wording "Relationship to sponsor." So do I put "fiancee" since #3 pertains to the person "this affidavit is executed on behalf of..."

It asks about the relationship between the person filing the form I-134 and the person listed in #3. My fiancee is the sponsor, on her I-134 form, we wrote relationship to sponsor: "Fiance"

Then her mom is a co-sponsor and on her I-134 form, we wrote "Daughter's fiancé"

Your relationship is "Petitoner". "Fiancee" is NOT a "relationship", she is not related to you until you are married except as the beneficiary of your petition.

"On behalf of..." would be (Name of Fiancee)

On your form put fiancee, like it is on the example form here on VJ(ignoring the fact there is a typo on the example and it reads 'diancee', they meant fiancee) On your aunt's form she can put nephew's fiancee.

Oh, duhrr, just realized I replied to an older thread from back in Sept. because someone posted in this thread and 'revived' it. I should pay more attention. Oh well, maybe it will still help someone in the future.
