I went ahead and saw a civil surgeon before sending my AOS/EAD/AP Packets. i found a reasonable one in las vegas, he stated that a second shot of MMR is required and a PPD(tb skin test). SLMEC do not perform a PPD test and they only give you 1 shot of MMR. so if you go thru SLMEC(st lukes in manila)you will definitely need to see a civil surgeon so you will not get an RFE's with your application. hope my experience will help others..

I had my PPD test taken too but the civil surgeon didn't give me another shot of MMR but gave me a second shot for Tdap instead.

Nope, TB skin test is not required when you are adjusting from K-1 and had medical overseas less than a year ago.

Chinook had her medical at St. Lukes. She did not have to have any more shots here in the States. The civil surgeon simply transcribed her vaccination record onto the I-693. It cost about $35. Chinook did not get an RFE.

Chinook had to shop around for a civil surgeon who knew the drill for us K-1ers. Some civil surgeons wanted her to have another physical exam. Some wanted her to have more shots. Some wanted her to have both. None of this was necessary, so she shopped around until she found a civil surgeon who understood the process.

By the way, it's next to useless for a Filipino to have a TB skin test since most of the adults were given the BCG vaccine when they were young. Because of the BCG vaccine, they will test positive for TB on a skin test. That's one reason St. Lukes does not perform skin tests on adults. The smear tests and the culture that St. Lukes performs are much more accurate in diagnosing TB.

I'm lucky i didn't need any vaccines I was up to date on everything, my son on the other hand needed 4 done

but since he didn't perform vaccinations on kids we had to rush to the medical walk in clinic in 30 minutes and rush back before the civil surgeon closed

atleast it didn't costs us too much 40 per person

We didn't see a civil surgeon, just submitted a copy of the Vaccination Supplement with our AOS filing. During the interview, we just showed her treatment record from Kaiser, where she received her TD and flu shots. No problems. No RFE's.
