Someone can tell me whether it is required to make any stop in New York or Chicago when the visa is approved and will travel to the United States or if you can make a stop in any city in the U.S.Some people tell me that is mandatory in any of these two cities for them to deliver the sealed envelope that was sent with the visa. But in all airports have immigration ports...I'm confused

The first US airport that someone arrives at is the POE where the sealed envelope will be handed over. Any airport with a Federal Inspection Station staffed by CBP is a POE.

You do not have to stop in either city. You just need to find which city closest to you is your point of entry. For example, I live in Michigan so I would fly into Detroit as my point of entry, even though a smaller local airport may be closer to where I live. But Detroit is the point of entry for people coming into the state of Michigan. Hope this helps:-)

Who told you this?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Not ALL US airports have immigration services. When I was a flight attendant, I remember a couple of my colleagues from an international airline had to fly to MIami. A hurricane was scheduled to hit within hours so they had to divert. Since all major airports in the south were saturated, they had to land in Cuba because regional airports in Florida didn't have immigration services for them to be cleared and go to a hotel. Sounds like non-sense, but it happens.

You can purchase a ticket to any airport that provides these services.

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

Where is the closest major airport to you? Tamer did his POE in New York, but only because we couldnt get a ticket at the time straight to Atlanta without adding a lot more money. He did just fine in New York. Where do you live?

I think that's exactly the point. NYC has the cheapest fares.

It wasnt the cheapest, but the layover times on the cheapest were realllllly long. His sister was paying for the airline ticket as a wedding gift, it was the cheaper flight she had access to from her company in Egypt. The ones I found had crazy layovers in some cities....like 24 hours. I dont think her assistants looked too hard, just found something quick and got him here the end of that same week.

Good luck on finding the POE that is convienent for you.
