Hey guys how long is it supposed to take for the papers to come in from the border crossing? My guy has been here 4 weeks and the El Paso border patrol had told him they would send the papers to my house. Nothing has shown up. Do you know if this is normal? I can't send in the AOS papers until those come in, and I'm getting nervous! Is there someone I can call about this?

What "border crossing papers" are you looking for? You don't need them... and nothing will get sent to you. Please look over the evidence required for AOS; you will realize you aren't waiting for anything. Good luck.

CBP does not send you any papers. Thos papers are sent to USCIS.

No idea what you are waiting on. You should be following the AOS instructions and filing it. When you are married and have your marriage certificate.

They told him they would send him the papers to the address where he would live, and he gave them the address to my house.

One of the important documents that we need for this part is the papers from the medical exam. My friend has recently gone through this and she said that since he doesn't have all the vaccines, he will need to have another medical done here to get those done and send those new medical documents in the AOS packet. She was telling me all about the whole process and that it's a pain in the neck but necessary. So I am confused.

Yes, you are confused. You won't get any papers from them. The papers go on directly to USCIS. if his vaccines aren't complete he will need vaccines and to see a Civil Surgeon for a vaccination transcription. Get over the idea that anything is coming in the mail, because it isn't. Then you can move forward and get the package together. Check out the AOS from family visas forum below for more specific information.

Are you talking about the DS-3025? That would be the only other form that one could have requested prior to or at the time of your POE.

You turn in the sealed envelope at your POE, and they do not ever return those papers to you. You are waiting for no reason. Read through the AOS guide here on VJ. He will not need a whole new medical exam. He will only need to get any vaccinations he is missing and needs for AOS. You need to find a civil surgeon that will do the vaccination transcription only. Sometimes you have to call around and explain to them that he came here with a K-1 and does not need another medical. You need the I-693, and it only needs Part 1, Part 2-vaccination ONLY, and Part 5 filled out. Read the I-485 and I-693 instructions as well the as the AOS guide.

I'm confused about the vaccination part. I don't even know what ones he needs. According to the AOS guide, it says: " If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. Only if your DS-3025 is marked "incomplete" is a I-693 required to be completed." I don't know whether it said incomplete or not, but I do know that he didn't have all the vaccinations.

If he didn't have all of the vaccinations... by definition, his vaccinations are incomplete...

Juarez does not give vaccinations to K-1 applicants. They give a blank DS-3025, so it does not matter. Anyone going through CDJ needs to see a civil surgeon and get the I-693. He just does not need a whole new medical.

The link I provided above to a post I made before has links in it that show what vaccinations are required for AOS. The civil surgeon can let you know which ones he needs. If he has vaccination records at all from throughout his life, bring those with you to the civil surgeon as well. You just need to find one that will not overcharge you and insist you need another medical, when in fact, you do not. Follow what the post I linked to says.

; I agree with other members have said.

You should start AOS and don't wait on the papers, which won't be send to you but to the USCIS.

I had my POE last week, and they are going to send my sealed envelope to USCIS. All I received was a I-94 form in my passport.

Good luck
