So my wife and I went to our interview this morning in Santa Ana. We arrived at 7:30 and found plenty of parking available (so early, lucky us). We parked and made our way to the 2nd floor. We placed our appointment letter in a tray at one of the windows and took a seat and waited to be called. I wasnt as nervous as I thought I'd be, but my wife sure was!

After about 40 minutes of waiting patiently, we were finally called. We were greeted by a pleasant man in his 50s and we were led into a small office. We were sworn in and sat down next to each other in front of his desk. He asked us for our passports and asked me for my drivers license. He then began flipping through our file. Wow was our file big! All that hard work on our I-601 was sitting there in front of me lol. So he begins by saying he "has a bit of a concern" about her Medical form she sent in that was filled out by the civil surgeon we used. He said that none of the medical information was filled out. I told him that was because she is a K-1 visa holder and she had her medical done in Mexico less then 6 months ago. I busted out my piece of paper and recited how as a K-1 visa holder she was not required to redo her medical ( I recited exactly what the paper said). It quieted him down as he began to search for her medical records in her file. It took him a minute, but he found them. As I stated, they were less then 6 months old. That took care of his concern (Go me! I wasn't about to let him tell me they weren't there lol!).

He then began asking my wife if she had ever received any weapons training, is a communist, etc questions which she answered all "No" to. Then after that was done he asked why she left the U.S. voluntarily and she replied with "I wanted to correct a mistake made long ago so I can marry the man I love". He nodded his head and then asked us for proof of relationship. I handed him a letter from my employer which stated my salary, how long Id worked there, and also it included a note stating that she is on my insurance and is the beneficiary of my company life insurance policy. I also handed him a copy of our joint bank account, a copy of my health insurance card with my wife's name on it, my other life insurance policy with my wife as the beneficiary, and finally our Disneyland passes together. He went and made copies of items I gave him and came back. He grabbed a stack of paper from his desk and began to write some info on it. He applied a sticker to it that had my wife's name and address on it and he congratulated us on her conditional 2 year green card!! He explained to us how we are to remove the conditions on the card 90 days prior to the expiration of the card.

FINALLY after years of anxiously waiting to get to this point she finally will be issued her GC and we can work towards the day where she can apply to become a Citizen!!

What a wonderful day it is today. Im still smiling as I type this. I hope this may help anyone awaiting their interview. We took lots of pictures but this interviewer didn't even ask to see them (Maybe because I had some in our file when I sent our I-601?).

Thank you everyone for your help and support throughout this process. I wish you all luck on your endeavors. Thank you everyone!

Fantastic review and also fantastic answer to the question about why she left the US. Very happy for the both of you! It might have been hard, it might have been expensive but I think you made the right choice on having her leave to correct it and what a FABULOUS end. I don't even know you and I'm smiling for you.

Just a note to start collecting ROC evidence and what not now. It'll make it easier when the time comes. Some people have a tub they put stuff in, I've been meaning to but haven't yet (my ROC window opens in April next year). I have started a list though (actually it's the cover letter for ROC and the "contents list" is what I'm adding to and changing) and reading your post reminded me of something else I can add to my ROC packet so thank you :)

Stuff to think of (that you reminded me about) is when you get new car insurance cards (don't know if yours do but mine has both our names on it) don't throw out the old ones and instead put it in your ROC box/collection. When I send my ROC packet i'll probably have 3 of those little cards but I won't send the originals, I'll copy them onto a piece of paper and send that.

Anyway I'm rambling, CONGRATS again :)
