Ok, we're officially moving to Iowa. Wait, is Iowa a red state??

I live in one of the "Blue" states and the lowest price is 2.69 per gal. Most "Blue" States tend to have the TAX-AND-SPEND people in charge who don't understand the concept of being fiscally conservative, they always take the route of throw money at the problem, and where dose the money come from? Raise taxes of course, or lately the trick is reassess the value of all homes up-ward causing a raising of tax. NY has the second highest taxed fuel in the nation, and one of the highest debts, because of the "Blue" liberal politicians in charge.

Any time I see the lower prices of fuel in other states it just reminds me of the TAX-AND-SPEND politicians that we in NY have in charge.

OK I will now step down from my soap box now. :)

Still like $2.79 for reg here on Long Island. Though I buy super.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Iowa went for Bush in the last election by only a few thousand votes, and they have a Democrat governor. Not really a red state, maybe kinda purple.

$2.07/gallon in Plainfield, Indiana (where I work). It's been dropping about 10 cents/gallon per day. It's still $2.45 here in Greencastle. Needless to say, I don't buy gas here in town....I buy it after I leave work.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Strange, if the dems were in power it would be right wing conspiracy theorists. Sometimes I think the pundits around here are bobble head dolls or something.

nope, conservatives understand it's a supply/demand issue

If Bush is conservative, why does he change everything?

According to the newspaper, gas prices have nothing to do with oil prices... unless the price rises. So, I have no idea how supply and demand have anything to do with it since it was said that there was more gas at the time of the article than when prices started going over $1.50 in early 2005 and doubled within 5 months. Ah, but that would indicate that if there is more supply than demand that they can charge more. That must be part of that "bad education system" we must correct because, when I learned it, supply and demand worked backwards. "No Child Left Behind" should change all that.

I am in the oldest city in Iowa (which Kerry won, though the presidency was decided before Iowa had a vote. Bush didn't win fairly if most Democrats voted by absentee ballot anyway. Those votes weren't counted, the way I understand it, and Democrats were encouraged to vote that way. At the voting booth, I got a "my vote counted" sticker... ) and gas prices were 2 dollars and 38 cents last night. I am happy to see ethanol (from corn) is back to the cheaper gas price. For several months it was actually more expensive than regular! How that happens? I will likely never know. Iowa is a leader in corn production... :(

It'd be cool if lawnmower/chainsaw manufacturers would take a cue from the car companies that are creating hybred cars and someone in government gives them tax breaks as well as people buying them.

Well shoot, there's another reason to watch gas prices.. I'm envious of all you cheepos, btw. ORegon = $2.79 still at the pump for regular.

BUT, winter's a-coming and I've got to fill the heating oil tank! Try having to buy 600 gals at a whack and you can appreciate someone gagging for $1.50 a gal again.... (diesel price is about the same as regulas gas).

Do you know they charge even MOREfor recycled donut oil (biodiesel)?
