This thread got ugly, glad a mod stepped in.

Anyway, the wait is agony and being in Vermont feels like a punishment compared to CSC I should know I was VT too. Hang in there and know that if all goes well your NOA2's are nearer and nearer barring any hiccups.

Also just a preparation warning for everyone... NOA2 is actually not the end but only the beginning of yet another wait and process. So be ready but get excited! Before you know it you'll be looking back at people filing in December and thinking "Yeah I remember that. Thank god it isn't me anymore!"

Your time is coming, patience and your significant other will get you though

I agree with you! Vermont seems to be the test of everyone!

in 2006 when i went through the k-1 fiasco, csc was the slowest and everyone was envious of those who had vsc, as it was typically a 30 day wait. now things have changed in the other direction. give it another 5 years, it will probably be csc is the slow boat to china, vsc is the faster again.

whoever said patience is a virtue, he or she musta been on the k visa train too.

Oh wow...so its a phase thing? Its amazing how quick CSC is pumping them out...but i read somewhere that the NVC was now the slow point coming from both CSC and VSC. I definitely got lucky there. I was at NVC, and in the embassy within a week. HOPEFULLY they all get on pace, going through this is definitely the master teacher of patience!!! :dancing:

Its not really a phase thing, its a total restructuring. When there were more than 2, 4 I think, service centers VSC was the envy of them all. I don't know what happened. probably somebody high up wanted that to change. It seems to have all changed since 2006 and who knows if VSC will ever be the way it was in its hey day. But still you have to remember VSC handles a huge densely populated region.

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

Whoa...drama!

I was not taking a "me versus them" attitude, IMO. I was not trying to be rude to anyone. OP posted wondering why VSC was slowing down, and I stated that I hoped the fact that no recent approvals had been posted was because VSC was working on fall backlogs (i.e. my case). Since VJ represents only about 10% of filers, and almost all VJ Sept/Oct/Nov filers have been approved by now, my theory is that VSC is working on those backlogs who are not part of VJ and this is why we are not seeing the recent March filers. I simply stated that OP should not get upset about this; I pray to God that VSC IS working on cases that are backlogged, or have been abandoned, or left stuck at the bottom of a desk drawer somewhere (like mine, Charlize's, Dumb & Dumber's). I believe they are because Dumb and Dumber just got an RFE and I just got told last week my case is being approved for expedite. So, I simply stated that VSC is most likely working on older cases, like mine, which as I am sure anyone can agree, deserve to be processed ahead of March cases. Can we agree on this? GEEZ LOUISE...take a chill pill.

And to the person (I am too lazy to go back and find the direct quote) who said that waiting 1 day or 1 month or 1 year is the same pain....trust me sweetie, it most definitely is not. Waiting ten months is much, much more difficult than waiting three or four.

I think that perhaps people come here to share their hurt about the wait because they have an expectation that others here will understand their frustrations where our friends and families don't (for the most part) understand the difficulties we're all going through.

I'm surprised at the amount of time someone here says "What is going on... why is it taking so long... I'm frustrated" and they're met with sharp tongues and rudeness or a bit of belittling because they haven't waited the amount of time others have deemed acceptable to complain. I complain all the time to my fiance about not being together yet. I knew the wait time going into this but I still get little frustrations out because he understands and feels the same way. So do we all here. I like reading the posts about people being frustrated because it reminds me that I'm not alone in how I'm feeling.

I agree with the above comments, it's not one of us over another - long waits or not - it should be more about supporting each other, not "My wound is bigger/more important than your wound." We're all hurting here while we're in the wait.

This is very true. Nobody really understands what the wait is like except those who go through it. You can try to explain what it's like to friends and family; but you have to go through it to really understand. So, this place is really the only place to find people who can relate. To everyone waiting, just hang in there; your time will come. And, for what it's worth, in 16 days it will be exactly one year since I've seen my fiancee in person. The wait is hard even after the NOA2. :(

Waiting to be with the one you love when you should be together is painful. Waiting is hard. But my point is that it doesn't matter how long you wait, whether it's one day, one month or one year, we all have to wait, so we're all in this together. YOU were the one that in your first post said that you were more deserving because you've been waiting longer, when the OP hadn't said anything about her own wait. You misunderstand, and yes, you do appear to be spiteful of others that haven't had to wait as long as you have.

Is it fair that you've had a long wait? No, not at all. No one in here was saying that at all. No one was saying that they needed to be approved before you. No one was saying anything other than the fact that VSC seemed to be slowing down. You're the one that brought up the whole timeline thing.

And to repeat what the OP said again, when it's raining, we all get wet. I'm sorry you've had more rain than others, but you're not the only one here.

I think you are the one misunderstanding here. Waiting is very difficult - I was not demeaning OP's frustration at the wait. I am sure after three or four months I was definitely antsy and upset with the wait, too.

It does matter how long you wait, though. Do you really think that waiting three or four months is just as difficult as waiting almost ten? Because trust me - unless you have waited that amount of time - it isn't. You get to a point where you lose hope, you're frustrated, your life is on hold, you become depressed. At least at three or four months, you still know you are within the normal processing time and you can expect to hear something. But when that passes and months continue to pass and no one can give you a solid reason why - it is dehumanizing and painful.

I brought up the whole time line thing with a point. I said that my theory (and hope) was that VSC was slowing down because they were working on much older cases that had fallen through the cracks, and that if that was the case, I am sorry but OP would need to be patient because, the truth is that cases outside the normal processing time take priority over cases that are. Am I wrong in that?
