What was the reason that your case had been transferred to Puerto Rico? Have they told you? Or this is just the general offical answer from the USCIS "for faster processing". And, in addition, your husband is from Brazil (which is closer to Puerto Rico than to California, I guess ).

P.S. Enjoy your time with your husband

Nickky, my guess is that this is a generic answer from USCIS...My husband and I are just ready to get pass this and move on w/our lives....I can't wait to see him and just enjoy our time together...He is the quiet in my storm (L)

Congrats  ! I'm really glad for you, Allegra!

Depending on how quick your case gets transferred to NVC (now it's around 1 month or something like that), you should start calling the NVC about your case #.

On VJ there's a guide for NVC stage (unfortunately, I don't have it on hand).

Again, congratulations! By the way, did you get text SMS or e-mail on your NOA2?

Thank you!!! And thanks for the info, I will go check out the guide.

As for the notification, I received an e-mail. I fell asleep last night right after talking to Hadrien and left the computer on.

The sound woke me up at 8h30- I was thinking "who in their right mind is sending me an email this early?!"... and tada!

You really can't get mad at USCIS for waking you up after all of that waiting and complaining.

I did check my phone later on - they sent an SMS at the exact same time the e-mail was sent - both come in simultaneously.

Plus, apparently they said they sent the notification out yesterday but I only found out today. My case was definitely not updated on their site yesterday.

I know our files must be in the same box...you'll get yours any day now!

I am thinking of all of you guys and hope you get it today too - if not FAST!!!!!

Thank you for the wishes , Allegra! What really wakes me up - is the sound of SMS on my cell phone, but usually I get some junk from T-Mobile  or my wife's lovely SMSs (L):P .

Before the NVC stage make sure you have you I-864 ready to fire out (as soon as you have your I-864 paid) and DS-230 itself with supplementing docs (marriage certificate, divorce, PC etc).

I'd advise you have your hubby DS-230 pre-filled out, go over, correct any errors, polish it and tell him to send it over to you or to NVC (depending who's gonna be an agent).

Plus, make sure your husband sends you check for 10,000 (at least) $ or Euro for your small pocket expenses :D (it has nothing to do with your visa processing). It's kinda moral compensation for your I-130 approval's waiting. Just kidding :D.

Hi Fellow May Filers,

I'm so happy we got emailed from the NVC with our NVC case number. This is really weird because I just checked our case status at the uscis website and the status was still initial review. Also, haven't receive our NOA2 letter. Strange huh? We got two emails from NVCInquiry@state.gov. The first email is for the petitioner with NVC case number, applicant's current address, AOS fee bill invoice, ds-3032 with NVC barcode & NVC contact information & info about DS-3032. The 2nd email is for the applicant with NVC case number, invoice id letter & the beneficiary id letter, DS-3032 with NVC barcode. Weird, I thought after NOA2 letter, you have to wait for the NVC. Do you guys have any idea why we didnt have to wait for our NOA2 & we just got NVC email? I'll check our NVC case online & see what's going on.
