This is funny  . I've just checked the USCIS site and it says that my petition has been approved and the notice has been sent on August 31st. But I don't have any e-mails or text SMS from them. What a place USCIS is  !

Congratulations on your recent approval! Im so happy for you. Please update your timeline so Igor's list will also be updated.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will probably get your hardcopy tomorrow.

Thank you very much, Allegra (F)! Just got hard copy of NOA2 today, as you said yesterday.

Back to your reply. Yes, my wife will need both PCCs: one form Ukraine and the other from Canada (I have it already with me).

In fact, I have my I-864 packet ready. Except, I have no clue if I should renew my employment letter dated as August, 5th.

Thank you very much ! My timeline has been updated also .

Wishfull, wish you speedy approval and without any RFEs !

And good luck to all waiting for their approvals! Just be patient, guys, and you will get there. Plus, as I've mentioned long time ago, I really didn't care when my petition would be approved, because I had more (and still have) more worries other than i130 approval. That way time flies faster when you're focused on something else other than constantly checking USCIS website . But this just my personal opinion, which you can disregard :P.

Anyway, again good luck to those waiting and I'll keep you posted how everything goes.

I don't have an employment letter. I am freelance and my recent boss says she can't be my "employer" for tax purposes. What do I do?

I don't have an employment letter. I am freelance and my recent boss says she can't be my "employer" for tax purposes. What do I do?

You need to ponder on:

  • How much do you make per year! Is is above 125% level for the two of you!
  • Do you have any savings/ assets!
  • Did you file tax returns for 2010, 2009 & 2008! and What were your AGI (Adjusted Gross Income)!
  • Do you have a co-sponsor, who has income sufficient income to support his own dependants and one more person!

I moved back to the United States from Paris a little more than a year ago.

I paid taxes in the US from the time that I worked (September- December).

And worked non-stop until July. I probably made 125% above level this year but not in the last three years since I paid all of my taxes in France before then - I have dual-nationality.

I am currently waiting for my project to start up (I work in film but I am not in the Union yet) so I have little gigs here and there but nothing I can really prove.

Anywho, I will have my dad act as the co-sponser, but does that mean I still need a letter of employment?

. Just relax, buddy. Your petition and mine will be approved at the same time, which is next week :P . I got that inner feeling :D . It's like boiling the water: it's warming, warming and as a result you have water spill on the kitchen stove  .

Moyo, buddy, there has been recently some petitions with NOA1 as of May 18th approved, so we're the next. If not, I owe you a pack of beer (Heineken or Backs). Just let me know - where to find you: in the USA or in Canada :D.

Is that correct that the backlog at Montreal is 4 months? It's killing me as well. Well, in fact, my wife is gonna kill me somewhere in Toronto  due to this delay, because I've already told her about expected interview somewhere at the end of this year. Damn it!

By the way, does anyone here on this thread (or on forum at all) have an info on hand how to contact Montreal consulate via e-mail or phone? I'd really appreciate that help.

I'm really trying to relax. You can send my case of beer to Canada as I may be stuck here! I've heard it's 3+ months for interview recently.

Congrats on your NOA2!

I am really pissed off. Here's what happened:

last week, we received a email from NVC with my case # on it. with the letter there is also a DS-3032 form and AOS invoice. i i think our case has been approved becuz we got letter from NVC but we never receive NOA2 any notification. i checked on their website and my case status is still initial review. i just called over the phone and representative cant anything regarding our case. He said the our NOA2 letter could be lost by mail. lost by mail?? i will believe that it got lost if i receive text message or email but we never did. he told me to fill out form for duplicate copy and that will cost like $300 sumthing. i told him, well if its lost its not our fault why do i have to pay to get a copy, guess what he said even its not my fault, there's a charge if you want to get a copy..

anyway, we already paid the aos bill & sumbit the ds-3032 form. we dont want to get delay becuz of not receiving NOA2.

lucky you guys you already got NOA2.. congrats to fellow May filers.. let me know if you guys experience the same thing.. thanks!

Allegra, employment letter is not mandatory (as well as pay stubs). I'll have it, just don't wanna risk RFE for further NVC delay.
