But in the last few weeks, the landscape has changed. For two reasons: NY-26 and the May economic numbers.

Last month, Democrats turned the race for the 26th Congressional District of New York into a referendum on Medicare, and more specifically on the Paul Ryan plan for reforming it. The Republicans lost the seat — after having held it for more than four decades.

Problem was, their candidate was weak, defensive, unschooled and unskilled in dealing with the issue. Republicans have a year to cure that. If they can train their candidates to be just half as fluent as Ryan in defending their Medicare plan, they would be able to neutralize the issue.

When John Boehner told Chris Lee to resign – How’d that work out for you, Mr. Speaker? – backroom deals made Jane Corwin the GOP candidate to replace him almost literally within a matter of hours.

Her prime qualification was also Chris Lee’s prime qualification – a daddy with a lot of money.

I respectfully disagree. You happen not to like their policies, and complain about them continuously. That's a very different thing than saying they don't have any, or haven't made real differences for Americans.

Obama the Socialist is neck and neck with Carter as the most inept Moron to hold the office. Getting UBL will maybe get him elevated to 2nd worst but only maybe. I laugh when I see the bumpers with Obama's hope sticker ripped off so others won't realize how friggin stupid they were/are.

All anyone had to do to see that spending ones out of a economic downturn was wrong was to look at history and see that Roosevelt tried and failed miserably and he even made things worse and that downturn never even ended until WW II came along. No one has ever spent their way out of a economic collapse but idiots have tried again. And to top it off this time they tried to bring the Feds more into our lives knowing that people were stupid enough to vote for Obama the Socialist and believe his nonsense that they would be stupid enough to think the Feds would be able to solve our problems. The only thing more moronic is there are some that are still trying to excuse the Socialists actions.

But at least we closed Gitmo. Plus, unemployment is back around 5%, the housing problem has turned around and we no longer have a deficit.

Its a natural law that once the carrying capacity is breached, an environment will take a dive and slowly rebuild but surely to peak under the new formed carrying capacity.

Maybe it's just me; but I don't think Obama ran on a platform of playing lots of golf, keeping the economy awful, and maintaining high unemployment.
