You have to remember that we are circumventing NVC's normal procedures by NOT waiting for their normal communications, and that means that we are often out ff sync--meaning ahead of the curve--with their normal procedures. This is usually the case, but there are always those cases where something is missing--in you case it sounds more like being out of sync. You could easily be on your way to the consulate before they get everything in sync, so call, but don't expect alot of information unless you really are missing something.

You are close--very, very close--to being on your way to the consulate !!!

i like what u're saying ...thank u so much...i feel refreshed...

i know it may seem something really simple ...but  i get scared

Nobody wants to get REF'ed and if someone get any, they usually feel scared, stress and frustrated. So, my advice would be, just IGNORE those who mimick you for as "SIMPLE" as the "Check List" that you received. Their ignorance shows who they are.

Like other posters have said, calm down... and when you are already relaxed, pick up the phone and call NVC. They will answer your query clearly.

Best of luck!

give em 20 days from mailing the documents to entering them into the system - thats what they told me on the ph when i once asked them bout a similar rfe. so give em some time if u have just mailed that stuff off.

and if there was a mistake on one of the papers, then they would say so and exactly tell u what s wrong. so that isnt the case, there s just sth missing - which means not entered into the system yet - it may still be in their mailroom though.

relax - but i know how things like that scare us - was the same in my case so my hubby had to calm me down LOL

then i called them bc they sent sth about missing docs - and i was told to wait (i had mailed it about w wks before calling them) and 2 days later - tadaa - my hubby texted me in th middle of the night that they had scheduled the interview appointment. :)

Actually, we got the exact same letter from the NVC this morning. Just like yours, it said that they have our DS-260 but are still waiting on the I-864. I immediately got in touch with the operator, and she said that it must have been sent in error because her system showed that they received both the DS-260 and I-864 document packets awhile ago. As others have said, it must just take a little bit for the NVC to load and review things after initial receipt. I was a little surprised since today is the 19th day since I got the confirmation email, but according to the operator, the process taking the full 20 days isn't uncommon.

IMO this is really different than an RFE and not unusual at all from NVC. It seems like when they receive one package they check to see what else is in the casefile and then send a letter automatically. In our case, we sent the emails the same day but got the checklist email back (3 weeks later). Then the next day we were magically case complete.

LOL I called them so much the poor girl remembered me :P

When I first called when I got the first notice the man told me that sometimes it takes some time to get from the mail room and into their system to give it two weeks. He told me not to worry so much this is common as it is two diff departments and they don't do things at the exact same time.

The next time I called they basically said the same thing and that went on for a few days.

Finally the last time I called the girl told me that they did receive them...they are loaded and they are accepted and they closed the case and did the final review that day.

Just takes time...after all...we would love for our packages to get from being signed for and directly loaded but that just isn't possible so we rely on the human effort and have to remember that it's just ppl doing the processing it does take time.

This part of it is stressful for sure and a very good friend of mine reminded me as we approach our interview next week...i'm a total wreck..i'm emotional im tired...etc...she said remember when your running a race its the last phase that gets you the most bcos your tired and worn out emotionally and physically... but the finish line is in sight so keep going the distance and you will get there...

Good luck!!!

Do these notices come in the mail or email.. NVC got my IV package and AOS a week ago. I have not heard anything on what they have received. How do you know when it's in the system....???????? My fees are already paid for and marked as such on the sign in page...

You should be calling them to check on your status and see if there are any RFE's being sent. I didn't get any email for my packages arriving or being loaded into the system only an FALSE RFE for package not there yet (even tho it was there they hadn't retreived it from the mail room yet)

It took about a week before they loaded the first package...but you need to call and check up on it. ;)
