I just came back from Biometrics in Albany,NY office. My appointment was 7/25/2011. I went to the office around 1:45 PM. Security officers and lady who took my fingerprints and photo were extremely nice! It took less than 10 min. I had a little cut on my finger, but it was no problem.

By looking at other people's time line, I am not sure if early biometics can speed up the process.

Good luck to everyone!

Hey June filers! I just received another biometrics appointment letter from the USCIS today. I was somewhat confused b/c I had already received one last week and thought that the appointment would cover all the biometrics for the process. Then when I looked closer, the first letter stated the appointment was for the I-485 and the second letter stated the appointment is for I-765. The first appointment is on July 29 , the second on August 4. Anyway, I called the 800 number and spoke with a customer service rep and she said that since they are two separate benefits that I am applying for, biometrics are required for each. She suggested that I take my second letter to my first appointment and I might be able to complete both appointments on July 29. After I got off the phone, I was still a little confused b/c I never heard anyone talking about 2 separate biometric appointments on here before. I did a search and apparently it does happen but doesn't appear to be very common. Some posters are even calling it a "glitch". I'm not too worried about it...worst case scenario- I have to make another trip to Charleston on Aug 4 ( 2 hr drive, not the end of the world)... but just wondering if this happened to anyone else in this forum?

I went to Charleston last Thursday. They done both at the same time, but then my appointment letter did state that they would be doing both.

I would do, as was recommended to you, and take both of your appointment letters with you. As quiet as it was there when I went, I can't see you having a problem asking them to enter your biometrics for both benefits.

Good luck

Went in to attempt an early walk-in biometrics appointment on Friday the 8th of July and behold...success!! Now just waiting for EAD. I hope that I receive it before we move so there are no problems. We are moving on August 12th and not sure when to have my change of address filed to our new place. Should I wait until we move in order to update address or what? If everything goes according to timeline it says that my EAD will be approved in the first two weeks of August. Also, the people that are buying my husband's house are friends so if anything ever does get sent to this address it will not be a problem for me to pick it up. Any thoughts on when and how to do an address change?
