POE- Citizens or non-citizens line?

I will be going to Tokyo tonight to pick up my fiancee.

Our POE will be LAX.

Anyone know if its better to get on the Citizens or non-citizens line? Or does it matter? I read some of the POE reviews and it seems like either is OK.

Just wanted to double check. Thanks!

It depends on what's going on at the CBP area. We were directed into the USC line where the officer had done a K1 petition herself so it was very easy. Hope that you get her line!

I was directed to the non-citizens line as I was a non-citizen and I was not an LPR yet, however I am sure you can ask one of the agents who is stationed there to answer questions

Citizens get to zip right through. New immigrants can take a while. My wife, then fiancée, was taken last, almost two hours later.

If you are traveling together, stay together. The officer will see the brown envelope and direct you from there. I asked this same question and received many replies to stay together(as the people who replied had done the same thing). We leave Sao Paulo Brazil this monday to fly to JFK and our plan is to stay together....

You can stay in the USC/Permanent residents line. That's what I was told at my interview, and what I was told in the line. It was MUCH quicker.

CR-1 and K3 visas go to the LPR/USC line because of the paperwork that needs to be processed. Though the K1 is technically a non-immigrant visa it is a step to immigration and has the same amount of paperwork (roughly) so makes sense to be in the line that's used to dealing with it.

I did, no problems and SO much quicker!!
