We received our noa2 on monday and was just wondering if I would be contacted to know if the case has been sent to the NVC or if I need to contact someone in order to get an nvc number thats different from out initial case number (the eac119*********) also if anyone knows how long it takes for packet 3 to get to my fiance that would be really helpful!

thank you to everyone who congratulated us on out NOA2 and for any info any one has :)

same question here ;) (got approved on monday too!) ... wondering if there is a chance to find out if the case/petition is at NVC. my address changed during the pending petition and I want to make sure everything will be send to the new address. VSC did not respond to two attempts to change my address.

You can call the NVC anytime to see if they've received it.

(603) 334-0700

Either use the automated system to check with your CIS number or you can speak with someone (option #5) - however, they can take a few weeks to update in their system. We received our NOA2 on April 14 and have been calling everyday since then - only to be consistently told to allow "up to 15 business days"

i would say if you received your NOA2 on monday give it about a week before you start calling

if you received the paper copy of your NOA2 monday then it should have been sent to NVC about a week ago so start calling now

always speak to an operator

and also the information you get can vary during different times of the day

Automated system doesn't work for K-1 visas. You need to speak to a live person.

Wait about a week or so before calling. Usually email works better imo. I called same day as I emailed and the phone call ended with "15 days BS" and 1 hr later the email reply had the NVC# in it.

What is their e-mail address?

They will mail a letter to the USC petitioner informing you that the case has gone to London and the Dept of State case number LNDxxxxxxxxx that they assigned. You don't have to call unless you can't stand to wait.

WE received our NOA2 on Monday (11th April) we called the following Friday (15th April) they said there was no trace of our case just yet. We called again on Monday (18th April)- they said they have received our case on Friday (15th April)- we got our case number. We called again on Wednesday to check if it was sent to consulate in Dublin- they confirmed it was sent that day (20th April). I've been calling U.S Consulate in Dublin, but no trace of our case yet, therefore no sign of packet 3.

Hope that helps!

The best is to call - like every few days and keep the track on things! Give them a shout!

Cheers!

You can call NVC around 6 business days after NOA2 since when i called them after 5 days they don't have it yet in the system...

Then I emailed them after 8 days, and I received a reply a day after with our case # and stating it was shipped to consulate,

so approximately NVC did mine in 10 business days...

Also, as discussed under NVC forum, you can track the package through DHL from NVC to Consulate, so you would know when the Consulate will receive it.

I would disagree and say you have to call NVC. Things seem to easily get shuffled aside unless you call and get the infromation. Call after about 10 days and call every other day after that until you get your case number. Once you have it, start logging in to the payment system daily to see when you can pay the fees online. If the K1 uses the DS3032 choice of agent form, fill that out and have your SO sign it and email it back, if the consulate will accept a scanned copy or mail it if not. Check out the NVC shortcuts in the wiki pages. Most of all be proactive. It is very easy for the cases to get lost in the shuffle so to speak.

Csprd is talking about NVC for I-130: this is different for I-129f for K1 visa
