Hi. had another question. My I-129F package is about 1- 1 1/2 inch thick. Is that ok? the thing that makes it so bulky is the proof of relationship and ongoing relationship.

All you have to do is assemble it neatly, paper clips with the cheque on top , put it in a business envelope and post it. If you want to send it express good idea and get a tracking number for it so you can see it arrived. If it is that thick maybe you have too much evidence. Just a thought but whatever its not that hard.

my package was less than 25 sheets of paper... I submitted NO proof of relationship or ongoing relationship evidence. The USCIS does not even want this evidence.

YMMV

It's not a bad idea to front-load by including proof of relationship with a petition that's going to be sent to a high-fraud country, which I've gotten the impression the Philippines is. 1 1/2 inches isn't extraordinary, really. But no need to print off every chat and email you ever sent, or anything like that. Just snippets here and there. If you've got every convo, email, text message, etc, then cut some out.

I'm the USC petitioner.

Hello everyone. I'm in the process of sending my I-129F package and i'm on the last leg of finishing the package. My question is, I'm a dual citizen. I'm a filipino Citizen and an American Citizen. I was born here in the United States but since i went to school over there in the Philippines, i became a dual citizen. Will this by any way affect my petition? I'm basically using my American Citizenship all the time but i do have a philippine passport. And i have about 3 stamps on my philippine passport. should i include that in my proof of being together or will it just jeopordize my filing? All i have is my philippine passport and nothing else to support my dual citizenship. (i don't have the certificate of naturalization because it was lost in a flood.) Thanks.

No US Passport? How did you re-enter the US after the visit there?

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

The OP has already clarified possession of both a US passport and US birth certificate. The question was regarding whether further proof of PI citizenship (besides a PI passport) would be requested.

So? I never said it's a proven way to get approval.

It is dependent on the country. I have 2 passports. UK and Australian. When I get US (if I do) I need to make sure that Australia and the UK permit me to retain citizenship on acquiring another citizenship, and they do. So I will end up with 3 passports.

This site here: http://www.800citizen.com/dualCitizenship.htm lists most of them and mentions that the Philippines doesn't permit dual BUT it hasn't been updated in a while and in 2003 the rules were changed so now they do permit it (and anyone who lost Philippines citizenship because of the old rule can reapply.. as mentioned here: http://immigration.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=163&Itemid=83).

Anyway dual citizenship (or dual nationality as apparently it's called now) isn't really a big deal. I included copies of the stamps in my UK passport (from visiting the US) yet applied for the K1 on my Australian passport. Wasn't an issue.

OP - my fiance is a dual citizen of the UK & the US. We sent a copy of his British passport as our proof of having met, as several years ago, he was not naturalized yet, and still travelling on his British passport. We also included a copy of his naturalization (US!) certificate and US passport. It was never a problem that we included both.

While the US may only recognize that he is now a USC, they did not take his British passport stamps as being less genuine proof. It was the passport he used at the time.

Hope this helps.
