Learn a new hobby? I learned how to do jewelry making, I'm now quite good with necklaces and earrings. Or knitting.

Lets see...

I perfected my quilting, learned how to crochet, learned belly dancing, exercised to get rid of the anxiety, got back into painting, started Tai Chi and done extra volunteering work.

 I was CRAZY anxious this whole process!!

BTW: Belly dancing is fun. I suggest that! and you will loose some weight too and your man will ENJOY watching you practice or you can tease him about it!! :D

except for work and wedding-related stuff, i made a list of things I wanna do before I get hitched.

things like:

1. climb another mountain or volcano

2. watch a stage play (i've been to so many concerts, but the last time i watched a stage play was in college)

3. donate (blood/magazines/clothes) or volunteer (Habitat for Humanity)

4. backpack to 3 places in one week. :)

5. write some more (i have a personal blog and i've been toying with the idea of creating a wedding blog as well.)

Violent physical exercise, si man.

Of course, my own motto is "If I'm healthy enough to exercise, I'm healthy enough not to, si man." :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Im a photographer...so I would go for loooooooong walks with my camera, I also took some online schooling. And of course worked myself to a standstill. I went from being so busy, that when I finally got my visa and moved here, I almost went crazy waiting for my GC and SS!!!

The trick really is to stay as busy as you can. And spend lots of time with family, dont forget, once you get your visa, you probably wont see them for a long while again.

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Ya it works very well for cutting weight, if YOU FOLLOW IT EXACTLY! No cheating on the diet is mostly what i mean. Even after 90 days there were a couple of exercises I couldnt do (mostly in yoga). I went from 18% bodyfat down to about 12%. I finally had 6 pack abs for the first time in my life. I only gained a little muscle but my back gained ALOT. I only lost 10 lbs but I was already pretty light (5'8 145) and I think the muscle gains kept my weight up. My friends and family started worrying about me saying I was looking too skinny when I finished.

Also it gets pretty repetitive after a while but just stick with it. its only 90 days.

One more thing. After doing more research on bodybuilding.com some of the more serious people on there say the diet that p90x gives you isnt so great but it's ok for beginners. I am trying a new diet this time around based on research on bodybuilding.com.

If you have any questions let me know. I've been through enough P90x to answer most beginner questions about the program I think.

I vote for belly dancing. A woman in the office here belly dances, and it's so cool to see! Post some videos of yourself doing it, too! YouTube links work well. ;)
