I got the I-797 RFE in the mail today. I am going to attach a jpeg of it so you can read it. If anyone has advice on how to best respond to this RFE it would be greatly appreciated. I am tempted to just copy every page of my passport and call it good but then again I don't want another RFE if I can prevent it.

Looks like USCIS is looking for evidence of meeting in person. What did you already submit? They are looking for things like passport stamps, bording passes, visas, etc. Do you have any of that?

Good luck

Just send back exactly what they are asking for - photocopies of passport entry stamps and bio page, airline ticket stubs, photos etc.

You could also send receipts of purchases made when you visited each other, tickets from things you did/saw together.

Thank you, I am getting ready to look through the packet and see what I already sent. I plan to send every page of the passport and some additional receipts and photos.

Send only what they are looking for. They are not looking for photos, they are looking for primary evidence of meeting. Things like I already suggested

Good luck

I already sent them copies of my airline tickets, boarding passes, bus tickets from when we traveled together, copies of hotel receipts. I did not send the originals but only copies. Should I go ahead and send them the originals with this RFE? I plan to send all relevant pages of my passport or should i send every single page of the passport? I also plan to send a few more couples photos and a few more receipts. Again on these additional receipts can I send copies or do they also need to be orginals? Thanks so much for the help?

Photo send them one also even if they do not ask for it since you already have sent your airline ticket and boarding passes etc. Your pictures together is the one that they are looking for even if they did not state that on your REF. I did the same thing....

I am having the EXACT same issue. Everything they want is stuff I have already sent and it's making me feel really helpless and panicky.

K-1 Fiance Visa

I-129F sent in - 10/7/10

NOA 1 - 10/15/10

RFE - 3/17/11 (the RFE was a bogus stall tactic)

RFE - 5/12/11 (another bogus, I told them I sent what they requested twice and threatened to call a state representative)

NOA 2 - 5/17/11 (they suddenly found the stuff they said they didn't have!)

Consulate received - 5/27/11

Packet 3 sent - 7/13/11

Medical - 7/15/11

Interview - 8/24/11 at 9AM GMT - APPROVED

Visa in hand - 8/30/11

POE - 9/3/11 - Newark

Wedding - 10/22/11

AOS

Sent packet - 11/22/11

Packet received at Chicago lockbox - 11/24/11

NOA 1 - 12/12/11

Check cashed/cleared - 12/12/11

Notice of biometrics appointment - 12/19/11

Biometrics appointment - 1/10/12 12PM in Saint Louis

My heart is in England in America with me!.

do not send originals because they wont be returned and the consulate officer may request them at your SO's interview. Dont send the whole passport just your visas arrival and exit stamps that show when u entered and left the country. label them and if they are in a foreign language translate teh,. also send in more photo and recipts, anything that proves u r in the country together.

Send copies, no originals. Definitely send a copy of all pages of your passport. An additional photo or two of you two together will help also.

Good luck.

I don't know why the OP should send copies of ALL passport pages.. Relevant ones, sure - i.e. the ones that have stamps / visas of visits to see your spouse. Or travels you have done together, if you can submit copies of passport pages from both passports showing trips to same countries on same dates. But PP pages that don't have any supportive evidence of you two meeting and being together don't have any evidence value.

Echoing others, don't send originals. I've seen many people getting RFEs for things they have already submitted - it could be that they lost some of your docs, or they just mistakenly send you the RFE. In any case, you should respond to it and send in what you sent already, plus something new.

For photos, unfortunately in this situation they probably won't help unless they have an actual date stamp on them. Digital time has made this more difficult - especially since in most cameras digital time stamps can be altered in the digital files after the photos have been taken. So I don't know what they say about print outs of those pictures. The RFE seems to state "film-dated photos". One thing you could use is credit card purchases from both of you, on the same date, charged in the same country, if you can print those out from your online banking.

We got the same RFE about a month ago. I sent a copy of my passport (all pages), plane ticket, itinerary and boarding pass. It took about 2 weeks to get our NOA2 after mailing the response. Good luck to you...

And....summarize all on a cover letter. Make is easy for them. Walk them through your primary evidence including dates, etc.
