Regarding the proof of meeting. We met over 5 years ago. I think I'm going to provide a spreadsheet with the dates of the 9 times I've gone to visit her over the last 2 years (thus not provide anything that is older than 2 years). I am going to provide flight dates for both of us and name of hotels we stayed in. Then I am going to provide my flight itineraries which are all in my email (I've printed them out) and all of her flight itineraries (I've printed them all out), the actual factura (paid invoice) of every single hotel we stayed at every night I have been in her country over the last 2 years. So I have all our flight itinerarues over the last 2 years and all the invoices from every hotel we stayed at in the last 2 years (about 200 pages in all) Next, I am going to provide 2 pictures for each of the 9 trips (names, date, and location hand written on the back of each photo) with both of us in the pictures. Lastly I am going to print out the call records of our phone calls to each other over the last 2 years (it is thousands of calls)... but I'm not sure the call logs will hold much weight as I took a Vonage phone to her, so it basically looks like I am calling someone in my own area code here in the US. Lastly, I am going to print every page of my passport and show how each stamp corresponds to each flight itinerary. Does that sound like enough? Do I really need to provide any boarding passes? They are all a mess and none of them show the year anyhow. Are chats really necessary?

All flight itineraries, stamps in passport with corresponding dates, orignal invoices from every hotel we ever stayed at, photos, and call logs should be enough... right? In total it's really close to 250 pages. I really just don't want to go through all these boarding passes that are all faded so you can barely read anything on them anyhow (there is no year on the dates either). I could just put all 100+ of them in a plastic bag and send it, but organizing them etc just doesn't seem like it would do any good as you can't read anything on them.

Thoughts?

I think they understand that these days with the internet, the extensive records of phone calls and so on just won't be there. Skype, for instance, doesn't seem to leave any sort of record of calls - so our nightly two-hour webcam sessions won't appear on any bills. My mobile also doesn't have itemised billing (I'm pay-as-you-go) and I use a call forwarding service anyway, so it looks like I'm just dialling a number in my local area code.

The same goes for letters - we do send one another the occasional letter, birthday card, Valentine's card, that kind of thing, but most of our correspondence is by IM and text message with the odd email. I keep every letter and card in its original envelope with a dated postmark in a file and print all emails.

What we're relying on is that we've kept every single scrap of evidence from every time we've met - everything from flight boarding passes and itineraries, to hotel bills and even movie tickets and restaurant receipts. I just hope it works!

Sounds good except the flight itineraries. They have no significance. They don't prove that you actually got on the plane. The boarding passes are what you really need. You should get the ones that are legible together and organize them. This is not my opinion; just what I have read here on Visa Journey. The passport stamps will be great. Do you have emails and Video cam logs? They can help especially when the case goes to the Consulate. Good luck.

thanks for the responses. Wouldn't a spreadsheet with the dates of the 9 trips and copies of all pages of my passport stamps, then having 9 sections with A, B, and C be easiest for them...

A)Flight itineraries (sometimes 10+ legs between both of us)

B)Invoice from every hotel we stayed in on that trip

C)2-3 photos from that trip

So there would be 9 of those in total. No?? When you guys refer to boarding pass, you mean the small section of the ticket that has my seat number and baggage claims attached, correct? those seem worthless to me as there is no year on them. If I only have say 1 of the 6-8 legs of all my flights is it worth putting in there? I don't have any of hers so I'm not sure how it helps. I almost always have her get on a plane to fly to meet me in another city of her country.

So I'll add...

D)boarding passes that I kept on this trip

That's worth adding?

remarkably I found most of the boarding passes for the majority of the trips. I don't have any for the trip farthest away (I.e. about 2 years ago). But I have about 80% of them for the most recent 8 trips.

2 questions...

1) Should I send in the originals, or should I make copies of them

2) Does it not matter that I don't have any of her boarding passes? All of my boarding passes will show to her country and in and around her country, but it's obvious that she couldn't have taken a bus to these places, so how does it prove we were together if I don't have her boarding passes? Is showing her itineraries and the photos sufficent to show she met me in those different cities of her country?

Are receipts from ATM withdrawals in her country worth sending?

Lastly, should I provide invoices or receipts of expensive purchases that I made in the US and then took to her? Ie. laptop, expensive jewelry, clothes, etc? Perhaps receipts to the items that cost over $250? Or is that overkill?

In and of themselves the flight itineraries are worthless but with the spreadsheet and corresponding passport stamps, they are a good combination. I'd skip the boarding passes and maybe all but one hotel receipt for each trip.

I'm a STRONG believer in the harmful impact of OVERKILL. If you send a reasonable amount then you're in more control of what they actually read and consider prior to the interview. The bulk of what you're sending is not important at all for petition approval Front-loading is for the Consular officer to review prior to the interview. Overload them and they'll probably review very little if anything.

Thanks for the responses. Ok, so the proof of meeting and ongoing relationship is really for the meeting in her country. I think I am going to not send in the boarding passes. I think it is much more organized with the spreadsheet of all of our flights, along with my passport stamps to confirm I really went on the trips, 2 pictures from each trip, and a hotel invoice from each trip.

I'll then take all the boarding passes with me in 8 different envelopes for each of the trips, so if they want to see them all I have to say is "Which trip?"... and then hand them that envelope. Or is that too late. Ie. They wouldn't just deny us stating they needed those up front, correct? 100% sure I will go to her interview, so I'll bring the envelopes with the boarding passes with me.

Does this sound like a good idea?

No, they won't deny you based on not providing boarding passes at all, provided you gave primary evidence of meeting within two years.

My primary eveidence was only passport stamps, and four lines of writing about when, where I met my fiance....It was just my case, and wouldn't hurt if you can provide more evidence. I guess....Good Luck
