Order of papers for I-751

Dear All,

I had a quick question. i am sending in my i-751 application. What order should I place the papers in in the set? I.e after my application form should i place the lease copy and then all the bank statements and then the tax forms etc? or how do you guys suggest i do it? Also what about pictures, should they be in the end or the beginning? With all these papers how can I be sure they will go through each and every one of them and not miss say my tax return transcript which might be one paper in the whole pile? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, I was just wondering. Thanks!

I don't think you're asking a silly question, by the way.

We're sending in our ROC packet tomorrow. We're doing the same as we did with our AOS packet and using tabs, to show where everything is in the packet. The small sticky notes at the bottom of the folder labeled for each section, bank statements, bills, photos, etc. It worked the first time around, so fingers crossed, it will work this time too.

Nickle the order you send your I-751 packet should be up to you, remember each case varies, just follow the same order on your AOS Adjustment of Status, and you'll do fine. We are going to send our packet next Monday and we did exactly like AOS order, strong evidence in front, not so strong in the middle and extra in the end such as (pictures, membership at stores and zoo etc.)

Hi All, i like the idea of a "contents page" and then tabbing the sections... now is anyone going to use a colored marker and highlight names / addresses / acct numbers ??? or is that going too far? :-)

I did Mrs. T-B.'s package chronologically, broken down quarterly from date of marriage through the present -- regardless of what the information was. The first section was covered with a page called "4th Quarter 2008," and I had a letter about a CD, a bank statement, and some receipts with our names on them. The next section was "1st Quarter 2009," and I put various items behind that. It was anywhere from 2 to 6 items per quarter, usually 4 or 5. On each cover-page, I listed the item(s) that followed and the month(s) to which they applied. I left everything looseleaf (with a binder clip) so that they could arrange things as they preferred.

I simply took a yellow highlighter and highlighted or circled what I most wanted them to see on each enclosure.

The material was meant to prove financial melding "from marriage through the present." I wanted to put myself in their shoes: would I want to see everything in order, or would I have to spread a fistful of bank statements across my desk to organize them by month, along with other stuff from those applicable months? The arrangement that I used gave them a timeline, and it was very easy for me. If we're interviewed, I'll report on how they liked it.

Oh -- and the only pictures that I enclosed were of us with the new baby, born in 1st Quarter 2011! Good timing, si man.

I've used a highlighter on everything, except their forms, since the beginning K1 petition. And I noted at the bottom in red Sharpie what the document was showing. I had some off-beat items I included since we don't have all the biggies. And not having the same last name screws up computer name fields. For instance I included the cat's rabies certificate, which thankfully printed out with both names. I highlighted the names and date and noted in red at the bottom "Veterinary receipt listing both of us as owners." I figured they otherwise might be scratching their heads wondering what the h*** is this.
