NOA2 Received!

So after filing in mid-September we finally got our NOA #2, yay! (CSC)

Now we need to figure out exactly what we need to get together. The approval only happened on the 3rd so the Halifax embassy hasn't contacted my fiance yet. I've already mailed him the affadavit of support, some pay stubs and evidence that I do make enough for us to qualify, and our original I-129F paperwork, passport photos, etc. We're aware you need some kind of medical examination and police certificates for the interview as well, does anyone have any details they can share about that? Do the police certificates need to be official or notorized in any way? He lived in the US as a legal alien for quite a while years ago, so we'll need some from where he lived in the states, but what should we ask for specifically? We want to get this stuff ASAP so we can get the interview done relatively quickly as well. Is there anything else I need to send him?

Also what of the medical examination? Is a vaccination record, TB screening/chest xray, and drug/STD test documentation enough from his regular physician or does he need to see a special one? Where can we find one near him?

Thank you!

What do you mean, Halifax embassy? You will be dealing with Montreal based on your location.

Montreal's backlogged as well and you are looking at a 3-4 month wait once you're able to book your interview. Your I-134 will be slightly out of date. It's best to get these things as close to an interview date as possible so that they are current. If you interview in June or July, the current I-134 will be months old and you will need current financial information.

You do not need police certificates from the United States.

A medical exam will take place in Montreal or Toronto. Your choice.

Please fill out your timeline for everyone else going through the process to compare to.

The medical exam has to be done by an authorized physician. Check this out, you can select the embassy and they will give you a list of authorized panel physicians. I don't know if it's going to be near - I have to go to Bucharest, which is 8 hours away from my hometown, but this is the only way to do it :) Good luck!
