Ours was not a big ordeal. He did a pre-planned little proposal speech to me when me&my dad visited India, in front of a video camera (my dad took the video) to show everyone back home. But that's when I got the ring. We already knew we wanted to marry each other before the "proposal". Had we lived in the same country maybe there would have been more time for him to learn about and plan a western style proposal.

I sent her an evite to our wedding.

That's the most romantic proposal I've ever heard!!

I was working in China at that time and my fiance was in the US.

On his spring break he flew to Manila to ask for my parents blessing and then flew to China..

My mom had already called me in excitement and said ACT SURPRISED OKAY!!! (Oh mom)

And he finally calls me and tells me to look out my balcony..

And I see him standing and looking up at the wrong balcony

I scream and we both run to each other and he proposes on a busy Shanghai road :)
