Happy New Year to all - last year today my wife and I got married

and here we are a year later and she has two jobs in the midst

of still serious unemployment. She's the best and will always be.

Our plans are dinner at home with close friends who will stay in the spare room.

Then we will go to a casino which is actually within walking distance.

Times Square would have been doable but even if I've never been there on

New Year's, I remember being at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree

lighting one year and almost getting crushed by the crowd. It was scary.

Happy Anniversary! And Happy New Year

We don't have any big plans. We're getting together this afternoon with friends we met on VJ, then having dinner out at our favourite restaurant. Tonight will be spent at home - online actually in a chat room with friends who are members of the same online interest group where we first met almost 10 years ago now. As the members span a number of time zones, we will be bringing in the New Year a number of times over the evening and on into the night.

VJ Participants and Birth Places:

Canada (Lachine, Que)

USA (Lakeview, Ore)

Ukraine (Kiev)

USA - (unknown)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Probably will be at a truck stop somewhere here in California but hopefully will get a load out and can at least be at a truck stop out of the state. I will be online chatting and camming on yahoo messenger with my babe but she goes to bed always by 11 at night so we will just say the Happy New years to each other and goof around on Cam.

We're going skiing again in the Wisconsin Dells. My son is visiting here for Xmas break from university in Canada. We went last weekend over Christmas with him (he's a snowboarder, we're skiers) and had a great time so we thought we'd repeat this weekend over New Years. Trouble is - it's pouring rain and in the 50s today, and all the snow base has melted here in Chicago. I hope the snowmaking equipment will keep the runs in skiable condition tomorrow. If not we'll just head for one of the waterparks. For NY Eve, we'll be in the hotel room tonight, so we'll just share a bottle of bubbly while watching the Times Square countdown at 11 (Central) and the Chicago lakefront countdown at midnight (Central).

Pray for snow overnight.....

Gonna sit back and relax and contemplate how awesome Australia is.

No mystery why the beer has big cans, though!

Going to 7 p.m. service at church, then heading home and at 11:30 p.m. will be on my knees giving God thanks for all He has done and asking for His favor in regards to all we will be facing in the New Year. At midnight I will be calling my husband so that we can then pray together as well. Happy New Year to you all, grace and peace to you and I pray for Godspeed for your process to be complete...Amen

No symphony to ring in the new year? Are you going to carry your purse on the slopes?

Have a great time and a happy, healthy, prosperous new year to you and yours.

That was a terribly nice thing to say, SPOOKY. Hanging around me has been a good influence. May I take this opportunity to echo those sentiments to you, Scandal and the rest of the people of VJ.
