I was wondering what this actually does?? I have seen it used several times but when I goodgle it I really don't get an answer when it pertains to a visa.

It means they go take your case file out of the stack it's waiting in and put it in the front of the line to be processed immediately.

Hmm how does one get a case expedited....

It's probably too late since they received mine at USCIS Nov-29th

You request it. It's not too late but you need to have a valid reason, not just be in hurry. Everybody is in a hurry. Do you have some justification to request an expedite?

You need a good reason for them to Expedite.
Expedite Criteria

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The burden is on the applicant or petitioner to demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met. The criteria are as follows:

  • Severe financial loss to company or individual
  • Extreme emergent situation
  • Humanitarian situation
  • Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States
  • Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)
  • USCIS error
  • Compelling interest of USCIS

If you have already filed your application or petition:

You can make an expedite request by contacting the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283. The NCSC will take a “service request” and forward your expedite request to the office with jurisdiction over the application or petition. You also have the options of 1). visiting your local office by scheduling an InfoPass appointment or 2). writing a letter to the local office or service center.

You can always try but don't be disappointed if it does not work.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,

May peace and plenty bless your world

It requires a letter from your doctor stating

your medical condition is severe and you are

in need of your wife to assit you with your

daily living and your inability to live and get

around on your own.

You can also request hekp from your Senator

with a request release form submitted to them.

If they see a need for your disability and your

request is valid they will and can approve your

case to be expedited.

Also if you have a HARDSHIP renendering your

spouses need to help you can file for this also

Than its to the descretion of the USCIS to approve

your claim.

Good Luck

Do you think that Russia wants to do it?

I think, that the given reason will not be as a strong reason for expedites.

What surprising things we can know at the international forum!

Excuse for my sarcasm.

Marry Christams and Happy New Year for everybody! It is the best reason to expedite cases.

I want to know the answer to a similar question: How long do expedites take?

My fiance is in Haiti and I requested a humanitarian expedite. I was told that all visa's from Haiti are currently expedited, but I don't know what that means. From looking at other members from Haiti seems like they get door-to-door in about three months instead of six to ten. Still waiting (though its only been a month)! Its tough when there really is a humanitarian or other situation and there's nothing you can do to help your love.

I wish there was a timeline for expedited cases.

Hello there! thanks for the info's

Do you think its not too late to ask for an expedite on our case? Our case was almost 2 months on NVC and we just got an RFE last week and they said it will be 20days after and they will send us a notice, hopefully not an RFE again, I was a bit worried and frustrated this time my husband will have a second surgery on his shoulder probably this febuary. I was hoping to be with him before his second surgery. Do you think they will approve it when we request for an expedite for our case?

Any comments or suggestion is appreciated. Thank you =)
