Just got the packet and interview date email today and its set for August 10th. We wanted things to work out where I would be able to attend his interview and fly back together. However, I have a HUGE trial starting on the 11th and will be begging my coworkers to cover for me those 3 days - since of course the next week I have no court at all  . Once he is approved and has visa in hand we will have approximately 2 weeks to get ready for our scheduled Labor Day wedding...cutting it close consulate lol. Anyway, please keep us in your prayers that it works out for the best as we continue to pray for you guys too!

I'm way behind, Blake and I went on our first vacation/hotel stay together by driving an hour and a half to Chattanooga, TN, it was great! I see that Sonoko has made it to the US! Fantastic!!

I haven't sent in my packet 3 yet (shame, I know!) but at the same time I am not in a super rush because I can't come to the states until the end of October anyway (I have a disability hearing, I applied a year ago and they still havent made my decision and won't until October! And then as soon as they do I'm like okay see ya I'm leaving, haha) so I am not stressing myself over it too much. I have almost all my forms done though.

I called the NVC on the 18th, they said they had not recieved my case. They said to call again on Friday the 20th. I delayed until Monday (thinking of government time), as it turned out my case was received, processed, and mailed out to Honduras all on the 20th :) Unfortunately they were not able to provide me with the DHL tracking number some people said they have received.

Please forgive me if these have been answered but I have been looking and cannot find anything distinctive. Suffuring some pre-interview nerves

1. Does anyone know if the petitioner birth certificate must be the long form also, like the beneficiary? The one I submitted with my app was only my info, not my parents.

2. Do I also need the same police background, or is that only for the beneficiary?

Please please please, pretty please, check with your U.S. Embassy! Everyone is different. If you have questions specific to your interview, I highly suggest you ask it directly of folks that are going through your consulate because you may get misguided information based on one consulate's difference from another. There are country-specific forums available just for that. It's not that I don't want to help you, it's just I want to make sure you are not mislead...

xo

Thanks for the support, Dizzy! I'm glad your case got to where it needed to go all safe and sound. Hopefully VSC will get to my RFE soon and I can move on too.

They will! Hang in there :)

Come on NOA2 where are you!? Nearly at 5 month mark. haha

It's coming! Have you considered putting in a service request? You might be eligible! Call USCIS.

I called NVC on 05/23 exactly after a week of our NOA2..Spoke with the live person..she was a very nice lady and said our case has been logged in the system...she gave embassy case #...now just waiting for them to send it to consulate..finger xsd...

I was pleasantly surprised when I called NVC last night. I didn't think I would be in their system so quickly. I'm very happy to receive my case number even before I got my NOA2 letter in the mail :)

The gentlemen I spoke to was very nice and knowledgeable. He answered my call very quickly after I pressed "1" for English and "2" for k and others visa petitions.

I was very impressed with their hours. They're open from 7:30am to 12-midnight Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Wow!! I called last night at about 8pm Eastern Time and got through quickly.

Actually as I was trying to order my long form birth certificate I found out why I was confused. As of April 11, 2011 all international travel docs will require a long form (lists parents names). It does say this will not apply to applications in process, but why risk it. This is for all passports, visa's, future applicants etc.

Called yesterday to try to schedule over the phone (unfortunately could not) but I did find out our application has already arrived at the embassy :) 5 days (including the weeked) NVC has impressed me.

I seem to have booked my interview! On the consulate page it said make sure to sign up for DHS/etc so I did, and then near the end it said 'book your interview' so I just did it! August 31st at 8:31 am, haha. OH looking at the montreal recap from Lise, it seems I have booked my interview too early! oops. I was just following what it said on the consulate page! I hope this won't cause a problem.

I finished all the paperwork today and once I get the photos I will send it in. I'm still a little confused on how/when I book my medical, but I think I can figure it out (I think they need to receive my packet 3 first? yes? I am calling tonight anyway to make sure they have sent me packet 3 by now, though I'm sure they have)

PHEW this is tough!

Thank you Mari :)

Yes, I'm ready for it a looooooong time ago :D

I'm sort of a perfectionist. I had her packet 3 forms prepared a loooooong time ago and mailed it to her last week. She got it 2 days ago. All she has to do is sign the DS-230 and OF-169 forms and mail them to the consulate with 2 other items when the time comes.

We can't wait to see each other soon :)

Best to the both of you as well!! :)
