Good morning! Happy Thursday to all.

I'm wondering if winter will by-pass us this year! The monsoons did (only a couple days of rain)

and now the temps are still in the high 80's. Was sooo lookin' forward to something in the 70"s

Hope your week has been a good one!

Hi Jenell!! Was kinda worried about ya when you posted that :crying: ! How are you sweetie?

Andrea, sure hope you are feeling better. Saw your post on FB where you were at the dr's office.

Olivia, how are you doing and how's work coming along?

Charles, are you still working alot of overtime?

Gee Liz, you can come here if you want. Not everyone is on FB.

Hi Jackie, Terrie, Amber, JVTA, Batta and Rosie. Please forgive me if i've left anyone out.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Happy Friday MENA! It's cold here too. Andrea thanks for starting the mena monthly thread. :)

Jeanne I'm doing alright at work. I'm really surprised by how hectic election day is in the newsroom. It was a very long day for me. And to think that newsrooms across the nation were as busy as we were. We were watching our national network covering the election as well through the night. Our News Director had all the other local channels up on TV in a row comparing coverage. It became a race of who got to speak to who first live. I observed as everyone did their roles and that was eye opening for me as the new person. I had nervousness being the only editor there on a busy day. I had some stress when being asked to do things I'd never actually done and only knew about in theory with notes. I had a limited amount of time to finish shows so I certainly had the hammer on. The morning editor had called in sick two days in a row taking advantage that I was there to cover while the senior editor was taken out into the field to act as a camera man that day so I was all alone. I had technical difficulties that I didn't know how to fix which caused issues for receiving feed from those out in the field. Thankfully I had help when the right people started showing up to help out like the IT guy and the engineers. It takes a lot to produce the news.

I'm still enjoying it. I'm really missing my husband being gone. After election day my face hit the pillow and I slept all night, then most of the next day, and then all night again. I don't know why I was so beat but I was really tired. I think it might have been all the stress I carried from work and the emotional exhaustion of being apart from dh again. From talking to him on the phone I can tell he feels really happy. I can hear it in his voice and he sounds like he has a sense of purpose as if he is more in his element. He's with family and working in his medical profession. I was really hoping this trip would do some good for him and so far it seems like it has. The rotations at the hospital have him studying again. He has a medical ID and went through the orientation. He's among peers and feels challenged while being in a learning environment. He tells me he has to study before Monday's questions. I guess the group gets a lecture and questioned like we see on medical shows. It feels like he's thriving again. He tells me being in Baltimore is like being in Cairo but it's not Cairo. He's says it's more busy and easier to get around. Jumping on the rail system there is like jumping on the underground in Cairo but a little scarier because it's not crowded like in Cairo and he doesn't know the people's mindset there or if they have guns on them and may come into some trouble, ect.
