I received an RFE yesterday in regards to the I-693.

I have it figured out, so this is more of a warning to others than a question.

My vaccination history was incomplete, i needed the MMR, and i was told by the mis-information line to get the i693 section 2, vaccination supplement, completed to show i had the MMR shot administered by a civil surgeon, so i did that and sent it, but it seems on the recent update to the I-693 they have said that if you have an incomplete vaccination you are required to to get the full I-693.

I never read that before, so either it wasnt there or i missed it, but still, when will these type of places allow there staff to use an ounce of common sense, its pretty obvious i had the full medical for the K1 and that i have fulfilled the vaccination requirements and the medical, any monkey from anywhere would be able to tell that from the paper work..

But noooooo, common sense goes right out of the window and now i have to fork out $150 for a full medical. AGAIN!!!!!!!

one civil surgeon i called wanted $300 PAYED UPFRONT before i could make an appointment.. i just laughed at her and put the phone down.. Seriously i cant wait to be done with all of this bureaucratic nonsense..

moral of the story:

MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL THE VACCINATIONS BEFORE OR DURING THE K1 JOURNEY!!!

My final though is that if you would like to apply for a position at USCIS ensure that you have feathers, scratch through mud for your food and have an IQ of a teacup..

Hi nickm! First of all, let me express my sincere frustration for your situation. I'm really quite sorry about the RFE :(

I have to say, though, this post has just struck fear into my heart!! We're planning to mail off our AOS paperwork today after just receiving the vaccination port of the I-693 back from the CS.

My husband had the first round of MMR in the UK and the second round done by the CS in the USA. Did you have both rounds of your MMR completed but STILL got the RFE?

If so, I'm feeling a bit queasy now :o

Our naturalization timeline

I walked out of one office raging over my shoulder "No, you're just trying to extort money from people who require a service to be together!!!" Or something like that. It was probably the rudest I've been to someone since I was 3. I really really really dislike civil surgeons...

I only had one shot for my MMR.. I wasnt aware there were two parts to it..

Well i have just got back from the civil surgeon, she was very helpful and also she had no idea why they wouldnt take the vaccination suppliment along with the DS-3025.

In the end i have had to have the FULL medical again, TB skin test, syphalis, blood tests and all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$250 it has cost me, i am SOOOOO pi$$ed right now that if i could explode i would..!!

What can i do though? i could shout and argue with them until i am red in the face, but what differnce would it make, they would just send me a denial and i would be up the creek without a paddle.. I have no choice but to get the full medical done..

I am totally with you. I'd be furious and probably do and say somethings very uncharacteristic to myself and really give that CS a verbal beating!!

$250 is extortionate, and yet there are civil surgeons that will try and make people pay even MORE than that. It seems to me like most of them are shady!

But you're right, once the RFE comes, you are really screwed if you don't give in and get the medical. I would do the same thing in your place.

Sorry to hear... :( We are in the same boat (sort of) - they lost his medical from Kenya, so we're in the process of getting the whole thing done again. We are up to $525 so far. It's beyond frustrating!

I sent my AOS package last Mon and I've seen that they recieved it this Wed.

I forgot to attach the I-694 - but I attached the Vaccination record I previously had.

Can I still send the I694 or just wait for them to request for it from RFE letter?

Don't send them anything separate from the initial filing without an RFE. It's unlikely that it will get married up with the rest of your file, so it will be a waste of a stamp and the money to get the I-693.

One would suppose to receive a complete service at the medical for the K1. I don't even see why we should need another form and spend another $50 (that's what I paid for it) just to have some secretary copy the information from one piece of paper into another one.

Strange...

I knew about the 'new' vaccination requirements of needing a 'new' MMR shot. So what I did was paid only for an MMR shot at a local doctors office. The doctor laughed and said I was the oldest person he had ever given the shot to. After I had the 'new' MMR shot I took the DS form to the civil surgeon along with the document of the 'new' MMR shot and had it transcribed for $10. I sure hope that was all I needed to do.. :S

transcribed into what? They didn't write it on the DS-3025 did they? They filled it out on the I-693 right?
