Oh my God do I have to tell all of you something... I was given an interview for November 1st by NVC so we have been waiting for the embassy to deliver a packet with forms for the medical and other instructions for my hubby. Since I haven't heard anything I decided to email them and just ask how long it was going to take....SO GLAD I DID!! Because November 1st it's a holiday in Chile and the Embassy is closed...Pay attention if you have an interview scheduled and it's a holiday in your country please... you must get in touch with the Embassy. So of course I went into a total panic!!!:o because I have a ticket, I took vacation and they were telling me that they had to re-schedule. I wrote back a very nice email explaining that I had bought a ticket blah blah blah and they told me not to worry and an interview date of November 3 was given to my hubby, (I just don't know what time). I was told to email them next week so that they will have that info for me and when my husband should receive the papers he needs for his Medical!!!

I feel like screaming!! LOL:bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

OH THE DRAMA of it all... :o Emily I am so glad you made the call. :D By the way what is the holiday. Elections or ?

I am glad you were able to get a early Nov 3 interview. Well I guess that tells us that the NVC does not coordinate the Embassy Appointments very well. Guess we have to check everything.

A friend of mine called me last night from California and we were speaking about the rescues in Chile. I was telling her that it was amazing that they save them after all that time underground. Then she told me some of the miners had their mistresses waiting for them when they got out? What the hey!!! Guess I was multi tasking and missed that minor point. :bonk:

People that work at the US Embassies have so many days off a year, for example here, the Embassy is closed on National Holidays (Nicaraguan) AND US Holidays! Go figure! Hahahaha.

I thought the NVC scheduled WITH the Embassy, maybe they should take a look at how they schedule because "rescheduling" can cause problems for both sides.

Glad you were rescheduled for the 3rd Emily!!! Good luck!!

I tried the DHL also some time back and it seemed I was guessing a little bit but I didn't have the ATV ship date. I didn't even know they put that out. Once NVC told me I was complete and I receive my interview date I never called back. :bonk: Like I am done with all that!!!

Thats just more proof why big government is not good for anyone. They tend to take care of themselves first. Trouble is Government is getting biger in the USA along with taxes to pay for it...

Yep two thumbs up! I did the same thing a few weeks ago. And it was also a good idea because they told me I had to bring an updated police record when I go to the interview. In the case for Nicaragua, a police record is not required at the NVC stage, it doesn't state why, but I believe it's because it's valid only for 60 days. So anyway, I already have mine, I got it last week. Now we're just counting the days!

Happy Sunday everyone...we are pretty much in the middle of the month right now so November is coming soon. I miss my husband oh so much...I can't wait for this month to be over so that we can get to the interview.

Mrs. Thomas

NVC:

02-25-2010 : Received NVC case number, but NVC is closed, so I can't give an operator our emails. :-(

02-27-2010 : Jumped the gun and emailed the VJ version of the DS 3032. Who knows what will happen :-)

03-01-2010 : Gave the operator both emails...waiting on DS3032 kit
