I have zero interest in people who stand for nothing but standing up for values and taking back America. what does that even mean?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Well exactly. I found this video helpful in that I'd been saying to myself, "Why won't they listen to logic??" After watching, I understood that there's no thinking happening. Asking for a legit debate from these people is like asking a quadriplegic to spot you.

But I think it's important in that context. We're not in a "debate." We assume people have the capacity for logic, intellectual accountability, honesty, critical thinking. That's just not so. If we familiarize ourselves with the terrain, we know better how to proceed. Theoretically. Or maybe we just position our mattresses closer to the cyanide vial. Either or.

I think Beck (and media figures like him) attract the sort of people who need to be told what to think, because they are either too uneducated or too stupid to comprehend and discuss politics themselves. People like that are the most dangerous kind, imo - because their votes are bought by slogans and not by a campaign platform.

I've always thought that a lot of people in the US approach politics, not in a serious way (that we would understand to be serious - i.e. actually having a vested interest in the running of their country or community), but rather like some sort of daytime soap opera. There is too much fascination with personalities and not with actual issues.

I did get a kick out of: "Noone owns George Washington"

+1000 tea bags. I think that's exactly right. I think they're more dangerous because thoughtful people tend to look at things from more than one angle, turn an issue over in their minds, change their minds...and in a way that ability to entertain nuance dilutes their sheer force. The thoughtless herd body doesn't do that. It gets its needle stuck on "OMGCommieMuslinTakeBacktheCountry" and just stays there, gathering force despite new evidence, new information, correction of misinformation, anything. As a consolidated body, they have a lot of power.

I mean just listen to them: they don't even know why they're there. This doesn't bother them. It doesn't even occur to them.

My favorite: "Well, I believe he's Muslim in his heart."

And you think the Obama supporters in similar videos that proclaimed that the messiah was going to buy them gasoline, apartments, etc., etc. and that now "we run the show" are any more educated, smarter, or actually think for themselves? Really...considering that 95%+ of the black vote went for Obama. What's up with that? My favorite was the black chick that stated that she voted Democratic because she was black. And that's it! Talk about herd mentality! Just like a school of mullets.

But, of course, one video of one idiot paints the whole picture. Just like taking an opinion poll of 1 or 2 people would be definitive.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

If you need me to say it, I think that the problem isn't relegated solely to one side of the political spectrum.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Here's what the Tea Party is about.

Illegal Aliens Are Here illegally.

Pro-Domestic Employment Is Indispensable.

Stronger Military Is Essential.

Special Interests Eliminated.

Gun Ownership Is Sacred.

Government Must Be Downsized.

National Budget Must Be Balanced.

Deficit Spending Will End.

Bail-out And Stimulus Plans Are Illegal.

Reduce Personal Income Taxes A Must.

Reduce Business Income Taxes Is Mandatory.

Political Offices Available To Average Citizens.

Intrusive Government Stopped.

English As Core Language Is Required.

Traditional Family Values Are Encouraged.

Common Sense Constitutional

Conservative Self-Governance

Mad Hatter Dale Robertson, after 22 years in the military now can relax and enjoy his pension (paid for by American taxpayers) and contribute to the anarchist cause. Man, I wish I could retire after 22 years, but that's Government employees for you.

"I received my Commission as a Naval Supply Officer. My last assignment was Executive Officer at Priority Material Office, Bremerton, WA."

So he was in Procurement? How does that make him a hero?

You CAN'T demand bigger military (what for?) and demand the Government "protect our borders". Isn't that deficit spending?

Special Interests Eliminated - isn't gun ownership a "special interest"?

Gun Ownership Is Sacred - Which book of the Bible is that one in?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
