What, exactly, is going on with VSC and Texas?

Are they sharing I-129f petitions with Texas?

I guess I'm just curious because we'll be filing through VSC as soon as we get one more piece of paperwork in. It seems like they're making good time, so I'm not complaining - just wondering why they're sending some things there and how long they'll do that for.

What I can gather from talk on the forum is that VSC is sending their overflow to Texas to be processed. Texas is churning out NOA2s in about a month's time. Amazing! My check was cashed in TX, so I'm hoping I'm in a box in Texas and not Vermont!

If that's the time frame, exult in it, si man -- back when, it took everything that I could do to pry our NOA2 out of the CSC in 6 months!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

They have changed how are they doing things now. They will be sent to Texas for initial processing, check cashing, etc. As far as I understand it, it will then be sent back to VSC for the actual processing of the petition. It never made much sense to me to send it back and forth, but the speed has picked up greatly so cannot complain about that at all. I am hoping to join the masses of speedy approvals soon. :D

Here is the news post about the change: http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/05/25/uscis-transitions-the-intake-function-to-lockbox-network-for-several-benefit-requests/

I thought CSC was sending petitions to Texas as well, but only people going through VSC have seen speedy processing. Pretty annoying for us CSC'ers, haha.

Go back a few months and you'll see that CSC was churning them out in 30-60 days, whereas VSC was in the 100-120 days.. Look at my timeline, 101 days for a NOA2 from VSC..

It's all just one big ####### shoot.

Haha, I would be sympathetic to it but I didn't file a few months ago, I filed in June. I want my approval in 20 days like the VSC'ers. :crying: It would more than make up for how slow Montreal is.

Same thing.. I filed in December when the CSC was cranking them out.. They were getting 30-60 day approvals and the VSC was around the 100-120 day wait.. Plus we had all the Haiti visa applicants that took away resources.

Don't worry, your time will come.

Bare in mind that not all vsc filers get noa2's in or around 20 days.you might still be lucky over @ csc, patience son, patience!

LOL, son? I'm a girl. :P Yes I know I need to be patient...but it's hard when it's been 32 days I've been waiting for an NOA1. My fiance forgot a form by accident and the whole package had to be sent back...so now people who sent their packages to VSC the same time we initially sent ours to CSC are getting approved...and I'm STILL waiting for the NOA1. Tell me that's not annoying! haha
