I can not speak for the other Democrats that did voe for him but the polls at this time are reflecting that the people are feeling as I do.

McChrystal just spoke out in the wrong way.

The only intelligent thing Obama did for the war was to put experience in to command; but this was only for show the moment they started to lead he through the choke hold on them. Now when they speak out (I understand in the wrong way) against his poor qualities and the failures he causing he gets rid of them.

Given the alternative, I am a long way from sorry I voted for Obama. Other than achieving the objective, already accomplished of removing the Taliban from direct power and going after Al Quida for whom the Taliban had created a safe haven while the Taliban ran Afghanistan, we have, since those early accomplishments put the war on the back burner until Obama. Under Bush very little was done after the initially successful invasion, moving on as he did under questionable intelligence to invade Iraq. Creating a quality nation state is not likely going to be accomplished given the nature of Afghanistan itself, given that the Taliban has been allowed to fester while on the run, and given Al Quida has simply morphed into a more global and less centrally controlled entity. So a strategy to improve military strength on the ground, trying to accomplish what can be accomplished in a limited time frame, and finally working to get the hell out is about as good a strategy as you can get.

Newsflash! The President, every President, is the Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces. That is neither a title, nor a role, created by Obama since taking office.

Who lost his credibility as a rational moderate the moment he chose Palin as his side kick - it might have energized the right wing fundamentalist fan base, but no one else got excited about the prospect of Palin holding high office in the US. Putting an ignorant pretty face in office may excite a certain section of society, but such excitement is not the stuff of good governance.

As to whether Obama was the right man for the job, I always said not, but to believe he is an idiot is to misjudge completely.

during bush-kerry election and the florida flub, i remember the media talking about absentee votes from military members and that the military overwhelmingly votes GOP.

on another note Pelosi wanted the US out of Afghanistan when bush was president, but i don't hear much from her now that O is president ("O" .... i can't even say his name anymore).

Pelosi was also crazy about port security when bush was president, but i don't hear ANYTHING from her now with regard to port security.

Pelosi was also pounding bush on unemployment soon after bush took office, but i don't hear the same sort of language spewing from that face of hers now that O is president.
