I'd like to be able to go ahead and add it to my cases with USCIS so I can track it online. I've heard some say it's not very accurate. Am I just better off waiting for the NOA1?

I used the case number that was stamped on the back of our check and it worked perfectly!

Just remember - you have to add 1 to the last number ( I think that's right?)

Is it weird that there are 5 or 6 different numbers on mine? How many digits is it?

VSC should start with the letters 'EAC' followed by 10 digits.

But, I heard that they send things to Texas now so I'm not 100% sure.

It's stamped with "Lewisville, TX" on the back

It looks like you are post-transition. Maybe someone else who has gone through Texas will know..

Otherwise, the NOA1 should arrive within a week or two and I can almost guarantee you that nothing else will happen before you receive the hardcopy with your case number.

Good luck with everything!

What's post-transition? What does being post-transition mean for our Visa Journey?

All it means is that the petitions that are mailed to the service centers will be sent to Texas first. As of now, they haven't updated the addresses in the I-129F filing instructions. It'll probably be better (a little quicker) for you in the long run. At least, that's the goal. I wouldn't worry about it really.

There was an article about it here on VJ a while back:

http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/05/25/uscis-transitions-the-intake-function-to-lockbox-network-for-several-benefit-requests/

And, if I can remember correctly, I received my NOA1 only 2 or 3 days after I saw online that the check had been cashed. If you haven't seen it in a couple weeks, I would make a call but I'm sure you'll get it soon.

My number was not on the back of the check. A bunch were, but none of relevance. Mine was mailed to VSC and then it wound up in Texas. It seems Texas is doing things a little different. I just hope they are able to expedite the process. Just wait for the NOA1. Good luck!!!!

I believe now that they are being processed at the Lockbox in Texas or Phoenix, they are NOT putting the case numbers on the checks. Mine was not. I think you will have to wait until your NOA1..but take heart, my check was cashed on June 8 and I rec'd the hard copy of NOA1 on June 11. If the check cleared, it will be soon for you!

Mine was also sent to VSC and forwarded to Texas. The check was cashed on June 7th, and no case number on the back of it. I got my NOA1 on the 9th though, so it is not much of a wait till you get your number.

Hello, I sent my I-129F package to VSC as instructed and my check was stamped with Lewisville, TX yesterday, 8/12. Does my package go back to VSC or will it get processed out of TX?

My check as cashed in Texas on 8/9 and no NOA1 hard copy until now. (8/14)
