Taxes Dollars and Illegal aliens

Tax dollars at work are when they come illegally with their children, we pay to educate them having to hire teachers who are bilingual because they don't speak the native language, they have no insurance (health or auto) and we have to pay for their problems as a result of this, we pay to arrest them, and then to deport them with a free trip home. Now on the flip side I guess one could argue that all the persons who work illegally and pay taxes are supporting the remainder of the illegals.

HMMMMMM maybe there is a study here to be done, taxes paid by illegals versus costs to deport illegals?

I was being specific on this, for this one case.

You are making broad, sweeping generalisations.

Although I agree with you, I think your comment to be 'out of scope' for this particular topic, and will most likely give fodder to others in this topic, to 'help it along' to deteriorate from the specificity of this case, broadening 'this topic' a bit..

Maybe better to make new topic, or have a mod SPLIT this topic, a bit?

Seriously - I do agree with yer posit !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Above 2 posts split from a thread in Immigration News forum to make a separate thread as they were not specifically related to the topic under discussion.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Belinda,

I have been "illegal" in the US for 13-1/2 years. All of this time I have paid (not just filed for) income taxes and not once have I been to the emergency room (to this very day), and there are many others in the exact same situation. I probably contributed more to the US economy while being illegal than many native-born Americans.

The broom you are using to sweep all "illegals" off the floor in order to support your opinion is way too broad.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Being illegal is nothing to brag about. Paying taxes on a job you shouldn't have doesn't make what you're doing right.

Jim Rogers

I read both Jim Rogers' "Adventure Capitalist" and "Investment Biker"

Great great travel reading even if you have NO taste for investment-type talk.

I remember in one of them he was in Africa and a crazy French guy attacked him with a knife

because he refused to give in to what amounted to was extortion.

When the local authorities stepped in they wanted Rogers to PAY THEM for all the costs

associated with keeping the nut under wraps.

I make comments to you whenever I see them. You still shouldn't be here now. You should have been deported years ago.
